Memphis batwing

Hello all.   My question is are you happy with it?   Reason I ask is that I would like a batwing really like the woody but not in budget. I was gonna get another windshield but never really liked how that looked. So before I bust my ass even more to get a memphis just wanted opinions.    Thank You

Sorry Matt I can't answer I went with the woodies my advice would be say a couple of coins for a while and go Woodies

If you eventually want all the bells and whistles, I'd go with Bighead's advice.

I had and liked the looks of the MS Batwing (Shell only). I paid $475, including windshield and hardware.
However, it slowly sled off a chair while wrapped. Upon contacting the floor it cracked in half.

I would have expected a couple of scratches, but cracking in half under such circumstances spells cheap! ???
Don't get me wrong, my clumsiness should not be a reason to pass on it. It does look real kool.

I now purchased a clear windshield (not shown) and have come to like it better. I can now see everything below the windshield,
including the front fender/wheel. Not so with the Batwing.

I have the Memphis Shades Batwing on mine. Installed it 3 years back. Quick disconnect hardware with added lower deflector. I found I needed the Baker-wings to finally get rid of buffeting. With the complete setup I have the best air deflection I have experienced on any bike, including Gold wings I have owned. I have the 12" windshield and still I look over it by 6 inches or so. With that I still get very little buffeting and wind around my face. I can cruise along and smoke my cigars in comfort. It should be noted that the Batwing alone did not provide that. The Baker wings are needed as well. With the Baker wings I can direct cooling air when needed or close it up for warmer riding. I sometimes wonder how such a minimal faring and the baker wings can provide such a comfortable ride.

+1 to what Quicksilver said. I have the same setup, albeit with a 6" curved shield, which works perfectly for the hot TX days. No wind buffeting at all, but enough air flow to keep it comfortable. I also have a 9" curved shield that I switch out when I ride 2 up and for cold weather riding.

The Woody's are nice, but they are not for me. I do not care for a speaker setup as I use and prefer my FF helmet with BT communication. I also do not want to relocate any of my gauges to my handlebar.

Thanks guys for putting in your input. Well I guess it gonna be harder than I thought to decide.  Told my wife it looks like my Sunday's off are gonna be busy fixing cars trying to make some extra cash.        Thanks again for taking the time to respond.  Your fellow valker Matt
