rear wheel won't seat in the pumpkin *FIXED*

I took my rear wheel off to replace the tire.

Greased splines as per Honda.

Replaced all three O rings and the thrust washer.

THE 4 FINAL DRIVE NUTS ARE LOOSE.

My wheel will not fully seat back into the pumpkin completely enough to get the spacer and brake both back on the axle. I can't seem to get the final 1/4 inch of the wheel to seat in the splines.

Thanks in advance for your suggestions.

Yes: New O rings can be tough. Sit on the right side and reach around the swingarm. Pull hard as you lean your shoulders against the bike as a counter pressure. Oh yeah, lightly grease the O ring.

The emperor has no clothes

Which o-rings are you using? Somebody else had trouble recently with I think red eye polyurethane orings.

Problem solved.

A closer look at the Honda service manual revealed that I had the spacer inserted on the axle backwards. Viola!!

Everything fit and torqued, then tightened the 4 final drive nuts last.

Cheers!
