Riding the yellow line at Deals Gap is not recommended.

Britman, I determine how close I can ride that yellow line about 20 feet before this pic was taken...I look through the curve to see if something is coming...if nothing is coming I will ride hard into the yellow line. This pic was was taken at the apex of the curve....here is another pic where I couldn't ride it in quite as hard...

The Tail of the Dragon is the best ride in the USA...IMO

We have roads that The Dragon couldn't hold a candle too. You just won't get your picture taken when you ride them.Ive rode The Dragon since before it was The Dragon back when the store at Deal's Gap was owned by a old man who had a coke machine and some old peanut butter crackers with dust on them. I'm guessing my first pass on a motorcycle was around 1978/1979 on a piece of crap 550/4...That being said we are going to be close tomorrow when we go ride Blood Mountain who knows we may come back that way.... You and I have already talked about you hangin' your head over in the other lane and if you keep doing that it's going to leave a mark someday    I've done The Dragon on 26 wheels many time's ( ESCORTED... we have powerlines in that arae ) and always worry about folks that ride the yellow .

Joe, as I have told you I don't ride the yellow all the time (read previous comment). I rode a good many of your other rides while I was up at InZane...none of them that I rode hold a candle to the Dragon IMO...most had marbles all over them...You have to pick your time to ride the Dragon as you know..early on a week day morning is great...I don't like riding it on the weekends.

Can I suggest something else?

In that leftie if you had rolled the weight off your right buttock a little and moved your torso to the left a couple of degrees the bike would have straightened up a little and you would have achieved the same speed around the curve without grounding hard parts.

Then your right shoulder would be a tad higher and your left shoulder correpondingly lower in the first photo.

Although at times it is gratifying knowing that limits are being toyed with. Shown by the never ending feeler bolt replcements on the footpegs of my ST1300

Mark, I did ride 80....made that loop up to Little Switzerland.. I road the Dimondback too...wasn't impressed with it at all...marbles all over it....but to be fair it was also raining which also limits the amount of fun you can have on the twisties....the worst road up in the Asheville area is better than anything I have in my area.

Maybe I'm missing something. Killboy used to put their own comments below most of their highlight photos.  From what I can see, the Facebook page shows comments from Facebook members, but not from Killboy.  It's not worth it to read through all the stupid or inane comments to find clever ones.  E.g. the comments for the Mallett highlight photo turned into a dark side debate.

You need to ride a few backroads in/around the Canadian Rockies. We found some with no #'s and weren't even on a map. Even on four wheels it gave a major pucker factor. Add in the fun of straight up on one side and straight down on the other with no trees to stop you. Some turns were so sharp I told my wife I could read my own rear license plate.  

Also some of the backroads in the northern New Mexico mountains, same scenario; no numbers, not mapped....but a lot of fun. Will take you five minutes to disengage the suction on the seat when you want to get off the bike.
