Speaker for Valkyrie

Has anyone tried using a Mini Jambox to listen to music while on their Valkyrie.  I have the larger version and it sounds great.  Im thinking the small one may work out.  They are on sale at Best Buy last time I looked.  I think I will give it a try.  It should fit in a multi purpose handlebar holder.  They can be used in tandem as well.

The Logitech UE boom, is the loudest of the small blue tooth speakers. A bit pricey, but any other bike speaker is more.  I have one and I am looking for a way to mount it on handle bar mount It's the round about 2 1/2" x 8". It does have a tripod mount, so I got a heavy duty bar / tripod mount to try, but it will be vertical. So far 2 wire ties. I haven't tried it yet as I just ordered a Ram mount for the Sirius radio.  

What's the multi purpose handlebar holder?

i will get back to you on the handlebar mount.  I forgot the name of the holding device but it attaches to a Ram mount.

This speaker is clear, good base but not enough volume.  Thats too bad because it fits the area. 

I have the larger "Big jam Box" but its too big and heavy for the mount I have.

I just went and bought the system they have from cycle sounds and hooked it up. Had it for bout two years now. Sounds great. Weather resistant and can even hear it over my cobra six into six exhaust. Cost is a lot but we'll worth the price.

Tried the bluetooth Jambox..couldnt hear over my Cobras...Now have a Pyle mini- amp (300 watts per channel , babycakes) and Chrome handlebar mount speakers...Plenty-o-power !!!!

Once I went to a little MP3 player and in ear plugs, stopped shopping for a speaker system.  I don't see the point, unless you are trying to entertain the traffic around you    It blocks out much of the road noise, but I can still hear horns and such, so I feel it isn't a safety concern.  The sound is great.  I haven't heard a speaker system on any bike that impressed me, either you can barely hear it, or it sounds over-modulated and garbled. JMO

Just a note, ear plugs/ear buds are illegal in MI. Helmet speakers are not.

I got the music working on the bike. It's a Sirius radio wired to a Logitech UE boom amplified speaker. I'm riding in the mountains so you get some drop out of the signal, but it worked well. This Bluetooth speaker is very loud for it's size, but on the bike at 25MPH the wind noise drowns it out. I'm sure it would be better with the windshield on, but I only use it on long trips. It seams like you need a huge amount of power and a lot of speakers to make this  work. Even then I'm sure at speed the fidelity of the sound is poor. I tried cheep ear buds, with a half helmet the wind noise washed them out as well.

So next I'm looking for a better on ear solution that works with a half helmet and my full helmet. The Sirius doesn't have a high level output, so I think I need some amplified system. Anyone have ear buds that seal out wind noise better.

I have a set of wireless head phone that I use on the TV. Is there anything similar to that for motorcycle helmets with over the ear speakers that attach to a half helmet, and can be moved into a full helmet that has pockets for them?  Wireless would be the way to go.

Momz, I have been riding with them for about 10/12 years and no problems.  I wear a full face/modular helmet and the MP3 is in an inside pocket so the wires run up the top of my jacket collar.  So, they really aren't visible.  But I had them on when I was pulled over for speeding some years ago, and the cop never mentioned them, so I think up here, that law is ignored (or they are not aware of it).

Here in Minnesota, only one ear bud is allowed, but I have been using both for 6-7 years.  It's almost impossible to enforce even if they really care.  I can easily hear ambient noises over the music.  I use my iPhone plugged into the Aux jack on a Jenson radio.

Tom, you know I wear those in the ear cone shaped buds.  They were a bit uncomfortable at first, but after I got used to them, I haven't found anything better.  

Only thing is, at gas stops with Brother OSS, he gets to foot tapping while I'm inserting them back in after gasing up and hydrating.

I only ride with them on long rides.  Never on short rides about town or in large group rides because you can't hear anything else at all once the tunes start.

That is my sound system also.  As for legality, They can KMA, I'll pay the fine.  No body can see them anyway, under my helmet. A quick touch to the volume control and I can hear and make conversation.  Hoser

Gary, Is that a class of ear buds, ones that restrict the road noise? What are the ones you have? I hope to get ear buds working first. Then I'm going to look at larger speakers, in the helmet. I'm looking for speakers that can move to the ear flaps on my half helmet.

I bet I've got some speakers that'll impress ya  Done the ear buds and also have speakers in my helmet. Neither sound as good as the audio on my bike. I am running 6 Kickers powered by a Kenwood amp though. 4) 5.25" Kickers in the Woody and 2) 6.5" in the saddlebags. Even when I was running just 4 Kickers, I'd say the same ,easily.
