"Vanishing Point" on tonight

Who can remember this movie, and especially Glilda Texter riding the motorcycle in her birthday suit.   I was 14 when I first saw this movie, and to this day I still think she was the hottest girl I had ever seen.

I haven't seen either of them since they came out I guess, and when I try to remember
"Bullitt", I think now that I'm really remembering parts of "Vanishing Point"...

I remember it well.  Someone told me that it was not the Challenger that hit the bulldozers.  They used something else.

After watching the trailer, I saw some more parts that I remembered... but I thought
I was remembering parts of a Dirty Harry movie

Great car movie.
I also was 16ish when it came out. I couldnt figure why he said "NO" when the hottie on the Honda asked if he wanted to have some fun. At first I thought he didnt understand the question.
Later in life I realized he was jacked up on white crosses.
Other than the constipational benifits he may have not wanted to embarrass himself.

That was the first R rated movie I snuck into.I was 12 and that movie had quite an influence on the rest of my teen years.

Saw it at the drive-in and drove like an idiot on the way home.   I have it on tape along with 21 other car chase/crash movies Like Bullet, and watch them every so often. Maybe I should get them on DVD as they are getting a little dim, But could be my eyes.  It was the first movie I had been to with a nude scene.

First chase sequence, when Kowalski was being pursued by two motor officers was filmed in Glenwood Canyon in 1971 during it's conversion from it's old 2 lane U.S. Highway 6 to Interstate 70.  What a time.
There is still a part of me that wishes that I-70 had been routed to either of it's alternative routes north or south  of Glenwood Springs.  It would  have made my former home an outpost rather than the tourist trap that it became and I would still be there soaking in the Hot Springs Pool.
