Maybe this board section should include new Valk AND F6B in it's title.

Reading through the posts here I get the feeling that the F6B is a hotter topic than the new Valkyrie. I also see lots of "classic" Valkyrie jockeys {including myself} having made the switch to the "6".
My personal opinion is that the F6B -IS- the new Valkyrie Tourer.

HMMM.  Watcha think?

'13 F6B black-the real new Valkyrie Tourer
'13 F6B red for Kim
'97 Valkyrie Tourer r&w, OLDFRT's ride now!
'98 Valkyrie Tourer burgundy & cream traded for Kim's F6B
'05 SS 750 traded for Kim's F6B
'99 Valkyrie black & silver Tourer, traded in on my F6B
'05 Triumph R3 gone but not forgotten!

I agree, it's an updated Tourer.  I met a guy with a black F6B tonight.  He's had it a year, and the paint was perfect, so maybe they all don't have that problem.  He also had Cobra pipes and they sounded quite nice.  His only complaint was the 125 MPH speed limiter.

They all have the paint problem if they have the OEM paint job, but it is managable with the correct treatment and care.
I actually look at it as more of an updated Super Valk as it has the fairing, radio and Intercom. Using the Ultimate Seats passenger backrest extension and the factory luggage rack a TBag works quite nicely and I could put more in the TBag then I could in the trunk anyway.

From what I am reading, there are begining to be offering of reflash options for the computer that can remove the 125 limiter. It's PLENTY fast enough for me.

The owner I met last night had black paint that looked flawless.  He hadn't ridden much in his year of ownership, about 3K miles, but is looked so good I'm less worried about the paint now.

He also had a smoked 11" shield from Baggershield.  It didn't detract from the looks and he said it directed the wind blast to the top of his helmet.  Does anyone have this shield, or recommend any others?  If I had any complaint about the F6B I rode last year it would be the low shield.

KlockWerks tinted "flip up" style shield. Works good for me.

Eddie, I sure like the looks of that ride from the front. Sure wish I hadn't looked at your post.  ;D Maybe when I get the 1200 up and running and sold.....

That's the best looking shield I've seen on an F6B.  Is that the dark smoke color?

WRONG! it is not a new valkyrie tourer. nothing about is the original premise of a power sport tourer cruiser.

The F6B is a partially stripped down Goldwing which with all of the body work unable to see the engine is really an over-sized crotch rocket, just not as fast.

Ahh yes, pointing out the obvious again, Duh!
We {Valkyrie riders} have been by in large pining for a new updated Valkyrie for years. What we had was 3 levels of F6 1520cc powered cruising/touring bikes, the Interstate, the Tourer, & the Standard. With the introduction of the 2014 Valkyrie earlier this year Honda has completed their new F6 powered line up.
I think it's fairly clear which new models align with the "classic Valkyries" that we so love & it is also clear we aren't getting any other flat 6 powered bikes.
Like 'em or not these are what we have! Goldwing, F6B, & Valkyrie = Interstate, Tourer, & Standard.

BTW, the F6B, as much as it pains me to say, is a far superior motorcycle to ride than our classic Valks.  :o

this is Honda's interstate says so right on the Label.

http://powersports.honda.com/touring/2014/interstate.aspx

so keep dreaming that honda made 3 valkyrie models based on the flat 6. It hasn't all they did was re-market the Goldwing platform with different labels.  :tickedoff:
Remember the Org valkyrie was a completely different platform than the GL1500 GW, the short block was the only thing carried over.
and there are many more far superior bikes out there than the 3 goldwings honda has and their interstate if your talking speed, handling and mpg.
I'd take an '03-05 Concours with some mods over a new goldwing platform any day.
But I'll keep my sport tourer/cruiser '98 Valkyrie  :cooldude:, 40+ hwy mpg with the proper airbox, jetting, ignition and exhaust mods, areas honda cheaped out on. better tires make it handle much better than when new.  :coolsmiley:

Where did you buy the Klock Werks shield?  I saw it listed at Dennis Kirk, but it was out of stock.  I'll be buying an F6B very soon and that's the best looking shield I've seen.

We get it. You don't like the new Valkyrie or the F6B and don't consider either of them suitable substitutes for your Valkyrie.

Opinion duly noted, multiple times in fact.

We still love them both so we all have our own opinions.

I had a 2010 Kawa Concours ... heavily modified with more stuff than I need to post.  It had custom billet risers to satisfy my carple tunnel issues, CB, full Muzzy exhaust with headers/carbon fiber cans, amber lamps, remapped ECU with nearly 160 hp, several windscreens, custom saddles, yada, yada.

I traded it in on the NEW Valkyrie.  I have not looked back.  The New Valk is much more suitable to the way I ride than the Concours was.  I do not miss it.  And, I had a 1999 Valk Tourer, too.  The New Valk is like the new water cooled Porsche 911 .... much better than the air cooled version that I loved as well.   ;)
