a black Roadsmith tryked Interstate with Illinois plates in the Gunnison Safeway about a half hour ago.  Pulled into the space beside it and waited a bit but had milk and a teevee dinner in my saddlebag so  I moved on.  Anyone here?

BTW, the Interstate gas tank is a big, bulbous, beautiful thing.  I want a silver one (in my dream$)!

I've seen quite a few Valks in the old stomping grounds this summer.  Picked a good place to ride.  

It's good to live where others vacation.  Not to mention the "w" word, that other season.

Gunnison is a really nice town, might make a great location for inzane ?? the valk guys are friendly, just don't agree to lunch at the rainbow room.

you aught to see it in the winter, about a zillion below zero. I'm from craig, co and it gets really cold there, but Gunnison will show you how cold is done.

Oh, man!!! Too many to mention.  Right around Gunnison there's Hwy. 92 (Black Canyon) to Crawford, Delta, Montrose.  There's Gunnison to Crested Butte, with a sidetrack at Almont to Taylor Canyon and Taylor Reservoir (must ride).  Gunnison to Lake City and Creede is spectacular.  The Continental Divide and Monarch pass.  East of Gunnison, turn at Parlin and take the magical ride to Ohio City and Pitkin.  The Million Dollar Highway to Ouray, Silverton and Durango is another must ride.  Awesome scenery!  Ridgway to Telluride and even the little jewel Rico.  This is just the tip of the iceberg, but some favorites in Western Colorado.  You can't go wrong just about anywhere you turn here (as long as it's paved).    PM me for more info.  Maybe we can share some thin, cool mountain wind.

Do take a side trip into the Black Canyon of the Gunnison.

Hwy 149 off Hwy 50 west of Gunnison all the way south to Hwy 160 is good.

If you want to ride some forest roads Keebler Pass is fun if the dirt is well groomed. Need local input about that. I rode it a few years ago on the ST1300

Do ride into down town Creede. Some of the Johnny Depp, Lone Ranger movie was shot in town and locally.

man that's for sure, there ain't a bad ride in the state, then you hit southern Wyoming, just as nice, head east, desert, head south, etc. etc. etc. the oly bad ride I ever had in colo was from 104th ave to c470 in Denver,
