I can't sing, I ain't pretty and my legs are thin

On top of all that he didn't have them in the correct order seniority. If ribbon, the highest ranking ribbon goes to the top and if multiple ribbons on the top row then to the left.

Same with medals. When wearing medal and ribbons, the medals go on the left breast above the pocket in order of seniority. The ribbons that do not have corresponding medals go on the right breast above the pocket by seniority. Oh and straight.

Anyone who attended boot camp no matter what branch of service learns that. And considering how many service stripes he had I think he would be suffering from oldtimes disease.

Extreme Walter Mitty - sad.

Young guy used to come into a couple of bars I go to.

Sniper
Then qualified as a helo pilot
The qualified after service on small jets
The started teaching on simulators
Then went to smoke jump school in oregon.

All got too much so a couple of grizzled vets quizzed him  about his army career and he stumbled as well. Never saw him again.

Let me add this correction. When wearing ribbons the most senior ribbon goes on top and inside when looking at them it's top and left.

Phony.  Reminds me of the traitor and hypocrite Kerry.  Used the war and his "decorated" service - he decorated himself, put in for his own Purple Heart medals, even inflicted the wounds - to be featured on the world stage back-stabbing his brothers-in-arms, slamming them, turning the country against the heros, gave aid and comfort to the enemy in time of war - the DEFINITION of TREASON - and caused the NVA to know they only had to hang on and they would win.  And they did.  Then nearly 40 years later when it was politically expedient, suddenly he's a "war hero".

Thank God for his Brothers in Arms, the Swift boaters, who told the real story and derailed his white house run.  Of course now it's a case of us going from the frying pan into the fire.

He should have been hanged for treason 40 years ago.
