leaving monday to ride from nashville to lookout mtn ga. on to the cherahola skyway, then to deals gap then to cherokee, nc. then to maggie valley, and points north from there...
i am looking for roads that are a must ride that most of us miss..we have done the blue ridge and always love the ride but now looking for something a little off the beaten path..
any replies will be printed out and put into my mapping program and then i will post the ride...
only thing is we have to be in ashville on wednesday..
my son comes up from richwood tx. every year at this time and this is what we do...

on another note the show nashville is being filmed now on property i take care of...thats a good show if you like soap operas...

Hwy209 from Hot Springs Nc., then take I believe 206 to Asheville Nc., should fit into your ride nicely.

This road can terminate at Interstate 40, if you would prefer.

I don't know if you've done "The Anaconda" but here's some directions I would use when I came south from Cincy to visit my brother in Mt Juliet.

Hwy 24 east out of Lebanon to N 25 then right on 262 to Gaineboro TN. Then left on 56 to 85 NE to Livingston. E on 52 to 85 (Wilder Hwy). Turn rt and follow this all the way to Hwy 28 / 127. You'll know you are on "The Anaconda" when you start hitting the severe switchbacks. This part is mostly backroad and no traffic. Might be some logging trucks.

When you get to 28 / 127 you can go south to 62 which will take you to Oak Ridge.  Then south I-75 to Lookout Mt. Once you hit Maggie Valley go north and hit Hwy 209 to Hot Springs (The Rattler).

Maybe Joe can tell you how to get to Pressman (?) House from there.

You may have ridden this before... on your way to Chattanooga, take hwy 41 south across Monteagle Mtn. You will ride about 20 miles of some good twisties that are as good as the Dragon. There will be a detour on the other side of the Mtn. (bridge out) which will put you back on I-24.
