Truth in advertizing

Why do companies make such outrageous claims?  Just saw a disgusting commercial for Life Alert using scare tactics to sell their product to the elderly, and they claim to save a life every 10 minutes.  That is 144 per day  or 51,840 lives a year.  I call BS on that, what do you  think???   Guess I should get a life, but some of the millions of commercials we have to endure just watch a little TV are beginning to piss me off.

The can't put it on TV if its not true.  Same with the internet.  Also, there is an insurance company that can save you some $$$ in just fifteen minutes. 

Not only that, but everybody knows it.

There is a great solution to advertising. If there is no one to watch the commercial then the commercial wouldn't be made. Also, ignorance is bliss.

Crazy solution you say? I did it. I don't have satellite, or cable tv. When we itch for some visual entertainment we watch a movie online (no commercials).

BTW - just think about how much more time you would have on your hands to polish chrome if you didn't watch TV?
