Rain on the visor

OK, I gotta ask.

How do you see when the rain is coming down?

It has never been a real problem before but I have probably caught rain 25% of the time I have ridden this year and it is getting annoying.

RainX? the little glove wiper? Run a hose from your butt and use bleed air? What?

I use a full face helmet and face shield and look over my windshield.

I don't prep my (shoei) faceshield with rainx or anything, it doesn't seem
to get opaque like a windshield, there's obvious water on it, but I
can still see.

When it has gotten so bad I can't see, it has usually turned out to be
that the faceshield has gotten fogged on the inside, so I raise it
just a crack (gotta keep the rain off my glasses) to stick a soggy
gloved finger in to wipe the inside of the faceshield.

I ride with the wind in my face.

If I get into rain wearing the full face the drops do sometimes collect on the visor.  I turn my head to one side and then the other and let the wind blow it clean.

I do not put my hand on the visor.

Here is the Caveman's method: Cut an onion in half. Test it on half of your cage's windshield.  Rub the windshield with it.
Hose it down and see the difference.

No matter what you ride, how you ride.....you are not going to see as well in the rain as you do in your car with good windshield wipers.  Having the shield at the height where you can look over it when you have to is the best strategy if you ride with a shield.  If its Honda OEM DO NOT USE RAINX.

If you have a Honda stock windshield there is a sweet spot where you can see over the shield and the rain gets pushed over your head so you can see.  Well this only works if you are moving at a good rate of speed.

Put the anti fog stuff on your glasses or visor, not the Honda windscreen

I have a good set of goggles that go over my prescription glasses and have a foam rubber seal around my glasses. These goggles are also vented. I use Carl's method to keep them fairly clear of water. BUT as others have mentioned vision in the rain is limited by-well-the rain. IF it do come a frog strangler/toad drowner I look for a viaduct or a gas station to pull into til it lets up. RIDE SAFE.

when you are tall just sit high and the rain on the shield just flows off

I dont use rainx, just keep the shield clean

The bike I dont worry about clean till trip is all over

Keep it above 80 mph and water just blows right off the visor!!

Plastic polish, put on after the 3rd or 4th trip in the rain.

Ya get rain drops on your visor.

Look straight ahead and raise up in the seat.

Anything above 40 MPH the rain will blow right on around the visor and off.

Set back down.

In the rain, I always try to look over the windshield.

I've ridden in some pretty hard rains and never had what I'd call too much of a problem being able to see.

Always have the visor cracked just a hair to keep the fog off the inside of it and off of my glasses.

Works for me.
