Wish I had been on the Valkyrie

My wife and I drove to Watkins Glen, NY last Thursday for a Tintype Jamboree that is done once a year for tintype photographers. The weather was nice...it was cool compared to what we've been experiencing here in SC. But the roads there would be wonderful to ride on the bike. They are narrow, hilly and twisty and look like great fun to ride on. Her Mustang took the curves well but I sure  missed the Valkyrie.  We also stopped in Rochester and took a tour of the George Eastman mansion. She had contacted them and got a tour of their archives in the lower levels of the house where all the old cameras and equipment was stored. All in all it was a great trip. I used to live in upstate NY when I was a kid but it had been a long time since I'd visited up there. It would be nice to be able to be a snowbird and have a home here and there also. Anyway, to all the riders who live up that way, I hope that you can get out and enjoy the cool weather and great roads up that way.

Grew up in Watkins. Left for NC at 30. Don`t miss the winters but there are some great roads and excellent fishing!

I know exactly what you mean about the winters. I used to live near Oneida....beautiful summers, horrible winters.

Sounds like "home" to me!

I rode through the Finger lakes area in July with 17 bikes. Beautiful area, the winery vines were way behind though.....
