oil temp light flickering!

oil temp light is flickering   cked oil and coolant which are OK.  Is best to go to a mechanic to ck fan, thermostat etc or is there something easy I can fool with

Lots of the temp sensors go bad and send false readings. BTW: It's a water temp sensor. Chances are there's nothing wrong with your cooling system. You just need a new sensor.

Does your fan come on & off frequently?

If so, it might be time for a coolant replacement also.

Is this a Standard/Tourer or an Interstate?  Is it the oil pressure light or the coolant temperature light?  The responses above seem to "assume" the light was the temperature light based upon your questions, but did you mean the temperature light or the oil pressure light?

It was the light all the way on the left...I guess it was the temp light not the oil light which is in the middle
