When you bring a new bike home, there is always the worry that the wife look at it and then will roll her eyes (you know the roll... admit it...like the roll you would get if you brought a Yamaha R1 home) and sigh, then say, "Well, whatever you want".  Course, that DOESN'T mean, "Whatever you want", it means exactly the opposite and so much more.

After a few days of cleaning, riding, polishing and other stuff, Robyn finally mounted the steed for a date to Starbucks and LOVES it!  Woot! (She even said, with jovial sarcasm, "Gosh, too bad this bike sounds so wimpy!", as we rattled the windows past our nosy neighborhood HOA Nazi... bwa-hahahahha).

The bad, she likes it better than the Concours 14....  could be the end of the C meister... but I hope not, cause when the adrenaline strikes, there's nothing like $1.50 on the C14.

Anyway, Happiness!  She's posted about it, positively, on FB, which makes it official.

Bubba, (I say that with sincere respect) You've got a keeper there.    Not only does she have good taste in bikes, she apparently is fond of you.    I'd keep her around long term.   ;)

I was dead set on buying a 1994 thru 1998 1520cc goldwing.  After she test rode one with me and then next day found by chance a 2001 Valk I/S,  she told me get the Valk I/S.  She had more wiggle room on it and didn't look like an old man's bike since at the time I was only about 38 years old.  Plus, she said the Valk looked so much cooler.  She was right!  :cooldude:

Once I become old say 55 or so,  might be time to get a 2004-2008 Goldwing when they will be down in price more than the 10-12K they are now.

jshram

Dude... 55 is not old....  51 and going strong.

But I'm with you a bout a wing.  We've talked wing for years, but she didn't want an "Old Wing" and the Valk is certainly NOT that.

Agreed!  :cooldude:  I miss having my wife ride with me, but health issues prevent it now. Haven't had that feeling of arms around my shoulders for over 12 yrs. now, but we sure had our "time in the sun" prior to that.

Pappy!

Good on you!
I see that both are wearing that "fast black" color scheme. Hard to tell which looks better in it as both are great looking gals !
You are indeed a lucky man!

Thanks!  I think she does as well... but the Valk is pretty too.  Gotta agree, she's a keeper (the girl).

Courted Robyn in 1987 on a 1984 Honda CB1100F.  We rode it everywhere together.  Riding together now kindles... well, leave it at that.  No one could replace her on the passenger seat, I totally understand.

When I met my wife I had a bike then sold it, she kept asking when are you going to get another bike? For years it did not seem the right timing then the dealer down the block had my 01 sitting on the showroom floor in 03. Well after visiting it 2 times the third time it followed me home. When I got there she said I said to get a bike but not one that big.  :2funny:  :uglystupid2: go figure. We have taken some good rides on it and usually take it to go out to dinner around here since parking can be a issue.

You are never lost if you don't care where you are!

Yeah, I'm lookin' at 55 so far back into the rearview mirror, I can barely see it or remember it.

:cooldude:  Well, we do live in Utah, but she wasn't 7... and I'm not allowed to divulge her age as you well know...  She would say that it is her "Mary Kay" skin care since age 16 (Yes, she's a Mary Kay director).

Showing off here, but this is the Christmas photo... the oldest (bowtie  - 26) is following in Dad's footsteps.  He has a 2003 Yamaha FJR1300 and last year went around the country on his own... guess there isn't any more ol' dad can teach him... sniff....

Thanks, guys.. well appreciated and it's always good to be reminded of what we have in life... we ALL forget.

I work in Las Vegas and go home to Utah on the weekends.... live in a LaQuinta all week (3 years now).  Now, it aint so bad, the money is good and I work a lot so no time for wandering minds in Sin City.  But, it is the city of excess and everything here is in your face, gorgeous everything, cars, bikes, houses, clothing, and yes, women too.  Looking and lusting at these things can make you forget what you got... of course those temptations are all a lie, because any fantasy of selling everything and buying a car you can't afford will lead to misery as would an affair or any other indulgence that comes from lust of the eyes....

So, since we are all tempted, me as well as any one else, it is good to be reminded of what we do have and to dwell on that.  Sharing my family with you has done that for me.

So, as I work here in Vegas away from everything I love, thank you guys for the reminder.
