how many of you are CMA members, how many active, and how long ?

I am a CMA member.........you ask am I active?  You have to define active.  I am very active in a couple motorcycle related ministries.  I don't however attend CMA chapter meetings any more, I found most in there to not be very active.  Ironically they call me inactive.........its all point of view isint it.

I was real active in chapters for years, was actually "appointed", area rep by herbie himself, eventually I found that being involved in the politics, (and everything has it) was taking too much away from my ministry, so I resigned as area rep (herbie freaked out) and dropped out of the chapter, ( I had started the chapter and was president 3 years) I have never belonged to a chapter since. my wife an I did the first coffee stop in Wyoming during Sturgis for 9 years, now I do 5 to 7 ministry trips a year where I stop at each and every rest stop, truck stop, ect. over a 2 week period just making my self available, its been awesome. at the national west last summer in mexico, J.O. asked me why I wasn't "active" anymore.

oh well, God knows what I'm up to and must approve of it, he pays for it!

Whew.......glad we agree......for awhile there I thought I was going to get another lecture, you know the one "you really need to get back into the local chapter, things have changed"  Well, It is ok for some I suppose or they wouldn't still be doing chapters, its just not for me either.  Politics and seems now even more rules and regulations to follow.  Since I retired out of the military, besides the Bible and what few things God says we are to do and not to do (I try to follow those) but that aside, I have 4 favorite words.  I DONT HAVE TO.  I don't have to:

-shave
-cut my hair
-wear uniforms
-eat or drink a special regimen

I do some of those things sometimes when I want to 


Basically as it says in Colossians, I will not let some silly rules of man be my guide nor will I pay attention to them that would judge me for my performance towards them.

I am an active member and participate in my local chapter. Sometimes politics (chapter and national) are a downer, but I personally am more motivated towards ministry within a chapter setting than I would be otherwise.

things are a bunch different now that herbie is gone. the new administration, while well meaning, just don't seem to have the members wellbeing at the forefront the way herbie did. I cannot allow that to slow me down, after 25 years, I have seen a lot come and go, but the core still wants to do the work.

Charter member of our north Jersey chapter R.O.A.R.  Have been active as Chaplain for some 8 years now.......have seen many members come and go in our chapter.......have seen the politics and personality conflicts, but the Lord continues to use this group of bikers to His glory......as long as that is His purpose....... I'm in!!
