Spam in the VRCC Mailbox

So every once in a great while I go to the trouble of cleaning out the VRCC mailbox spam folder.

There are a lot of mails that consist almost entirely of Chinese characters.  I don't know what they have to say, and, quite honestly, I'm not particularly interested.

There are two groups that do catch my attention.  One group usually in all uppercased letters informs us that the VRCC, or perhaps supportstaff, could use a healthy and safe method of increasing its dangler.  Some express confidence that it could gain three inches in a week.  That just sounds painful to me.

The second group that's been of late arriving at the VRCC mailbox is notifications of undeliverable mail.  Now there's a question that occurs to me.  If a person is registering for the VRCC message board and it clearly tells him, or her, that he will get an email after the administrator has approved his request then why on earth would that person leave an unusable email address and think everything would just work out?  I'm thinking a pre-registration IQ test may be in order.

By the way, I'm still just arbitrarily deleting registration requests that come from the People's Republic.  If you have a friend in mainland China that would like to become part of our fellowship you might tell that friend that I'll need an email expaining who he is and a current picture of his Valkyrie.

Willow, you could give people the same intelligence test the Queen in England gives perspective new staff.  She explained this to Obama and he tried to implement it, didn't go well.

She called in Prince Charles and asked him this simple question:  "if your parents have one child and its not your brother or your sister, who is it?"

Prince Charles said "Me"  Obama thought that was great.

When He got home he asked Biden the question.  Joe had to think about it, went walking around  he asked Colon Powell and Colon Powell said, "that's easy, its me"

So Joe runs back to the Presidents office.  and proudly provides the answer.  Obama says, "so Joe, who is it?"

Joe says "Its Colon Powell"  Obama fires right back "No you fool its Prince Charles"

When I used to run on the drag strip we had an old saying; you can't beat inches, whether it's racin' or lovin'.  Had a couple others but probably needs to be left off the board.

Willow, I have a few friends that use less popular email sites. Excite, geemail (not a typo)  etc.  I will get emails from them in my inbox but when I try to reply  with my mainline email  (Hotmail or Gmail) it will not accept the address from them as valid.  Maybe  this is part of the issue with the undeliverable emails?

Yeah.  I'm just pleased we weren't doing that when I joined.

No, they're more often than not Gmail or Yahoo.  I try to correct misspellings when I can determine them, but some are just outright fictitious addresses.  The bounce backs tell us why the receiver wouldn't accept it.

Seems to me that given the number of failures, the ability to enter a valid email address is a pretty fair approximation of an IQ test already....
