I don't really follow baseball too much. But I saw some highlights the other day of of a girl pitcher that pitched a no hitter. I think it was a Philadelphia team. She looked pretty dominant

 The Pearland high school also has a great football program. I maybe wrong...but I'm thinking the movie & tv show "Friday Night Lights" was based on Pearland's football team. Maybe one of the Pearland area members will chime in and correct or confirm.
