Bethel, N.Y. Woodstock Nation.
Best ever for a mere lad of 20; lookin' for a good time and lookin' for love.  Found both.
Anyone else attend?

My wife and I went there 25 years ago.
We drove all night and most of the next day to get there.
We were lost and in need of fuel when we found a Gas station on the out skirts of Bethel NY.
As I was fueling up a black truck pulled up and I asked the driver if he knew where the concert was. He introduced himself as Jerry and he said he was going there and we should follow him.
When I finished fueling up I got back in our pickup and my wife asked if I got directions,...I said yes when it occurred to me that I just got directions from Jerry Garcia.

When we got there we saw "Guns and Roses" and the final band to play that night (final evening) was the Grateful Dead (in the pouring rain no less).

Somehow I think the music 45 years ago vs. 25 years ago has changed a lot?

I'm in the 25 year category.  Just last night watching Grown Ups 2 with Adam Sandler when they were dressing up for the 80's rock party my 16 year old daughter was watching it with me.  I asked if she knew who Hall and Oates were and she said isn't that a cereal?  I laughed my butt off on that one.  She didn't even know the kid dressed up in a long beard in black suit with sunglasses on being ZZ top.  My, how the generations have changed.  She has heard though of Bruce Springsteen and Pat Benatar and Tina Turner though so all was not lost I guess?  Being born only in 1998 I guess she won't know the 80's as well as me not knowing some groups in the 60's.

either way, Bethel NY must have been the hot spot for music and chicks?

The legendary drummer/singer Levon Helm went there and never really left. His place was famous for its jam sessions. Sadly he passed away a couple years ago.

I can't help about the shape I'm in
I can't sing, I ain't pretty and my legs are thin
But don't ask me what I think of you
I might not give the answer that you want me to
