What's next, cushions on hammers to cut down annoying sound?

So does the hair dryer police show up at your door with a search warrant?
Can't happen here, we are armed...

Next thing ya know they'll ban Big Gulps.  Oh wait.
I can't help about the shape I'm in
I can't sing, I ain't pretty and my legs are thin
But don't ask me what I think of you
I might not give the answer that you want me to

I heard this a while back. First vacumes, now hair dryers, then what, guns?
You are never lost if you don't care where you are!

We won't get banns like those until coal and oil and gas are over regulated and taxed out of existence and  electricity has to be rationed..... you know, like next year or so.

Didn't they have TV police some years back checking to see if you paid your TV tax? If not they would turn off the service or something like that.

Still do. Fined for no TV licence.

http://www.tvlicensing.co.uk/

It's against the law to watch or record TV programmes as they're being shown on TV without a valid licence. This includes the use of devices such as a TV, computer, mobile phone, games console, digital box or DVD/VHS recorder.

Watching TV without a valid licence is a criminal offence. This can lead to prosecution, a court appearance and a fine of up to £1,000 (not including legal costs). The exceptions are in Guernsey where the maximum fine is £2,000 and Jersey it is £500.

It costs £145.50 for a colour and £49.00 for a black and white TV Licence.

A little over 200 years ago we had to teach our supposed betters a very harsh lesson in order to secure our liberties. The time to repeat this lesson  is quickly approaching. How bad does it have to get before we say ENOUGH!

Idiots.  An hair dryer that uses half the power will take twice as long to get hair dry, thus using exactly the same energy.  Same thing with lower-powered kettles and vacuums; half the power, twice as long to do the work and the same amount of energy used.

Oh, and in my house anyway, when the hair dryer is being used, the bathroom lights are on, so MORE energy will be used with a lower-powered dryer.
