After a long the day ride my daughter and i were just minutes from home when my Tour Master trunk fell off the back of the bike. We didn't realize that this had happened until we got home. So we jumped into the car to go see if we could find it. We saw my daughters jacket on the side of the road but no trunk. We pulled off to retrieve her jacket. While pulling off a pick up truck pulled up behind us and a guy jumped out and asked if we had lost something. I described the trunk and he said he had it back it his house. I got the trunk back. Offered the guy money, but he would only accept a thank you. Total value of all that could have been lost was close to $600. There are still good people out there.

Most people would do the same I think if up and up?

I helped out in high school a kid one year older than me find his 300 dollar nice class ring he lost in the school's parking lot when was 12" of snow on the ground and he told anyone if helped if found would give us 20 bucks.

I luckily looked around for only about 30 seconds until I saw an indent  in the fresh snow.  I reached down and found it.  He wanted to hand me 20 bucks but I didn't take it.

Another time I had a brand new chevy silverado in a park in IL was raining out heavy that was all muddy and a construction crew had a 1 ton dually 2WD flatbed stuck at the bottom of a VERY steep hill could not make it up.  I had my family with me and was getting dark late on a Saturday night around 8 p.m..  The 2 guys flagged me down asking me if my truck had 4wd.  I said puzzled yes.  They asked to hook up their huge chains to the front of my tow hooks and drive down to the bottom of that hill and pull them all the way up.  I REALLY didn't want to do it but they talked me into it thinking no way could I pull them up such a steep hill in reverse on a slippery muddy hill.

Well,  I got the family out of the truck, drove down, hooked up with the 2 guys in their truck running driving up the hill as well.  It was so steep I looked back and could only see the sky it was that steep.  I kept a steady pace all the way up and was flinging mud all over and they were fish tailing wildly back and forth, but eventually made it up the 100 yard hill.  Was actually pretty easy and admit fun to do really but my new truck was mud choked all over.

They offered me 80 bucks in cash out of their wallets and I didn't want to take it but they said don't worry, we will get reimbursed from the company since they told them long ago needed 4wd work truck and they were too cheap to get one.  Plus, they also told me there in the boonies on a late Saturday night their company is not open and no tow truck would be there for hours and they had to get home that night for events.   So, I took it and almost felt guilty but my truck needed a good washing or two or three before it got cleaned up again and 80 bucks is cheaper than calling a tow truck I figured?   Easiest 80 bucks I ever made sitting driving in reverse for 2-3 minutes.

I didn't do so good on a trip from Or to socal a few years ago. I had a small pack on my rear seat on the Valk driving Int 5 having a good old time. Stopped at a motel for the night and went to get my pack, all gone. I lost it on the freeway some ten miles back. Knowing I wouldn't find it at night I waited till morning. I found it some ten miles back with everything spread all over the median, under clothes and jeans socks, everything. Next stop wall mart for new stuff. All of it was trash from the cars and trucks running over everything.
