My heart is heavy with reading this news.

Duane was a strong and generous man.  He didn't hesitate a moment to lend his skills and efforts to one who needed them.  He made many choices in life that may have been different than I would have chosen, but he and I did have something in common.  He lived life on the path which he consciously chose, in the way that he himself selected.  We, in this culture, tend to admire the strong individualist.  Duane was.  

Rest in peace, Wizard.  The fight is over.  We'll miss you.  We'll remember how you chose to be and we will miss you.  Someday, maybe soon, we too will come down the road you've traveled.  I hope we learn to select as intentionally the pathways as you did.  We remember and we miss you.

RIP my friend. My first Inzane I was late getting in for the only day I could make it which was the big Friday dinner. The booth had closed and I couldn't get a ticket. Duane was working security for the vendor area at the time and when we struck up a conversation and I told him what happened, he said "come with me, I'll take care of it."  With a few words to Phyllis I was in to my first gathering of VRCC. I know he covered my cost, but would not accept anything from me. See you on the other side Duane.
