Army officer is told not to enter his daughters high school because he's wearing his uniform

Wasn't the security guard wearing a uniform?

Couldn't some student be offended by the security guards uniform?

If the school was on fire and the fire department showed up, would they be turned away because they're in uniform and some student might be offended?

I wonder which end of the political spectrum political correctness and bullshit like this comes from?   :uglystupid2:

"We regret this incident"

I'm thinking some security guard got a little over zealous in his/her attempt to do their job.

Does not appear to  be a school board policy.   Superintendent trying to make it right.

I see a very small issue here, not one worthy of national headlines.    Obama's screw ups are where we need to stay focused.

Skinhead

You must remember this happened in the northern suburbs of Detroit.  There is a Large Muslim and middle eastern population in this area.  I would like to know the ethnic background of the security guard.  It would not surprise me if he was of a muslim or middle eastern background.  I'm not saying that was the case here, just that it would not surprise me.  I think the security guard should be made to publicly apologize for his actions at the very least.  And should apologize to the officer in question personally.  Then I think he should go F himself.

I hope that dad shows up to that school board meeting wearing his uniform.

I hope dad shows up at a school board meeting with his command, the LEO's and the Fire Department all in Parade Dress.

My Dad told me that during WWII that his only mode of transportation was shoe leather, but with the uniform on he didn't have to walk far before someone would see him and pick him up. He said it was that way no matter what part of the country he happened to be.

Agreed, to include the FD, PD, Boy Scouts, Girl Scouts, American Legion, Veteran of Foreign Wars, BPOE, Patriot Guard and every other service oriented patriotic group.

As i saw the later take on the story... the school has a policy against "Camo' on ALL persons........ Not uniforms, military or others.....

He came to the school; wearing his desert Camo Fatigues .......

Had he been in his Dress Uniform there would have been no problem.......

Once again... something taken out of context......

Ron I see a huge issue here and worthy of many more stories than Ray Rice putting the beat down on his old lady. Don't get me wrong ray was very wrong but that uniform should stand for something and it is O's stupid crap that has got this country thinking he way it does. If the US military uniform (whatever branch) offends any one they are traitors PERIOD.

And Brad the camp is part of the US armed forces uniform.

Also, upon further reading....

The school stated that there is no policy at all against uniforms.... the "for hire" security guards misinterpreted the policy on campus and told him to go home and change.

Your point?

My point is that it was not a single individual.  Ignoring or accepting small, seemingly insignificant, but overtly offensive actions leads to their incremental widespread acceptance.  Incrementalism is our greatest enemy, as well as the greatest weapon of those who seek to defeat our way of life.

Okay, four folks.
I'm not saying you're wrong, I'm just not going to over react over this.

I'm one of those guys that got spit on, called a baby killer and had to stand there while some piece of crap protested my service and burned my flag long ago so forgive me if I don't go over board over some misunderstanding.     Way back then, it was all I could do to not rip some assholes throat out for transgressions against my flag, my uniform and the memory of some of my fallen brothers, this appears to be significantly less in nature.    I think I'd let the security guard live.

I'm pretty sure "bumf@#k " refers to some god forsaken place - like in the middle of a desert, quite possibly very near lake havausu. Definitely not a highly populated major metropolitan area.
Rhymes with dumbf@#k
