Where to order progressive shocks?

Been reading about progressive 444 shocks. Where do you guys order these? Can you just order any 444, or does it need to be made for a Valk. I am looking at the 13" HD for my IS. When I look at different sites it will say for Harley, are the 444's the same? Thanks   Firefighter

was the best price I found when I bought mine some time back.

NOTE that when you click the Fitment button the HD shocks are listed compatible with all models including Interstate, unlike the standard spring 13" 444s here

where only the Standard and Tourer are listed under Fitment.  Something to consider.

Thanks for this info, but if I understand correctly: 444-4221C is what I want 13" Heavy Duty spring, fits my 2000 IS.

444-4213C is the standard duty? You must have done some research somewhere to understand this. I have not seen anything to indicate heavy duty anywhere? Thanks Firefighter

Yes, you want 444-4221C.  And yes, I did a lot of research when I purchased my 444s  late last winter.

Can not confirm your part number, but within the last week and a half I purchased a set for the Tourer for $475 on Amazon - no tax or shipping to NC.

Best I was able to find...and I take the time to shop around.  Also good is they seem to have a good selection of the different lengths, as well as standard or heavy duty, chrome or black.

You may have ordered a different set.  The 13" HD spring 444-4221C is $488.78 on Amazon.

Yes, I did.  Amazon uses different suppliers and prices vary depending upon length, SD or HD, and color. 

You might also find a different price for the same item every day you check - annoying, but that was the case.  Good thing was it shipped very quickly as do most Amazon purchases.

Guess the web site was down last night as I could not get on. Appreciate all your research and help. I will order with your number. Did you have to do much modification, enlarging the bushing or what to make the shock fit? I have read this has to be done, but never exactly what? Anyway thanks for all the free info! Firefighter

Install is pretty straightforward.

In order to get the metal ring into the lower bushings we used a pocket knife and shaved just enough around the the hole on each bushing to hold it, then tapped the ring in flush with a hammer.  The shocks come with several sizes of metal rings for the bushings, you only need to install them on the bottom bushings.  If I remember correctly we used the thinnest ones included.
