For any of you that are still considering a desmog, I just installed the xf6 desmog kit from Daryl.  Really nice fit and very easy to install.  The flush fit plugs look great.  Yes, a little more expensive than the Red-eye kit, but well worth it to me.

Could/did you do it without pulling carbs?
I bought one of his kits a few weeks ago, but it looked like some hoses under the carbs needed to be removed; figured I'd do it down the road a bit as part of some carb work, but maybe it's possible without?
Just because you are not paranoid doesn't mean they're not out to get you

You should be able to do the desmog without pulling the carbs.  I pulled my carbs and rebuilt the whole works, so while the carbs were out, I did the desmog.  What I did have to make life easier was a long brass drift to tap those plugs into the head.  Also, having the carbs out really made short work of removing all of the original smog plumbing.

Really like Daryl's kit.  The plugs are tapered so they fit good and tight.  The flanges for the bottom are well built.

Can't say enough good things about Daryl.

He sells Works shocks too.
