Sorry to hear this.   So sad.  Prayers on the way for him and his family.

Here in the Houston Texas and surrounding area there are a lot of deer around.  However, they have taken a backseat to the hogs in our area, they are taking over.   Hit one in my truck about a month ago down by sargent, luckily it was a sow and about 10 piglets.    My truck cleared the piglets but my boat trailer nailed 2 of them.    After hearing that "thunk" and feeling the whole truck sudder I instantly thought "manoman.....iffin i was on my Valk I would be on the pavement."

Just gopt off phone with Donut. Jerry is in his mid 70's and has ridden since 14,the only thing to throw him was a Cushman Eagle until this deal.
He thinks they may let him  out of ICU tomorrow. Has 3 broken ribs, possible broken shoulder, manyt scrapes and bruises. Have heard bike not hurt. Has friends making trip to Calif. that will pick up bike and bring back home as they return.
He sounded good, hoarse from having ventilator tube doen throat but good.
He wanted me to relay his appriciation for the thoughts and prayers.
THANKS FOLKS!! cooldude

Great to hear it.   cooldude

cursed deer.  Hunters around here have 'em all jumpy this time of year.  Missed a runner by an inch a couple summers back.  I hope none infringe on my comfort zone like that again.

Great News!!

Glad your back at it. cooldude cooldude

I lost my best riding buddy this year from "complications" he was given at the hospital, when they talked him into letting them operate on a "tumor" they spotted in his gut while doing x-rays from his crash.

His injuries were very similar to what yours were.  Turned out, the tumor was benign.

If your up to it, would you relate how it happened?   Maybe we can learn something.

Freak deal, never saw it coming until it hit me, nothing I could do,,,wrong place at the wrong time. There was brush and trees right up to the highway, the deer was well hidden.

That's how I always imagine it. It would be just like when that bug from out of nowhere suddenly goes "splat"
on your windshield. Only its a deer.

Good to hear, Donut.  I understand the antsy part.  It gets better over time.  Only you can decide but rest assured the odds are no different now than they were before.

Good to hear the lung is healed.   cooldude
