Hell, I took the carbs apart just enough to get to the bowl and clean it out, real fun. The first time I put it together gas flowed every where when I turned the pet rooster on. One of the tubes with the o ring on it wasn't in place. Took em apart again and was very careful when I went back together with it. When I fire it up its at about half throttle. The throttle is real stiff now. I have adjusted the 2 linkages on the motor till I'm blue in the face. I'm in Wichita Falls and I need a mechanic. Is there one near here? There is no one in this town that will work on Valks. Even the dealer don't to mess with it.

I rebuild carbs all the time. I am In Tulsa if that would help you out. Even the dealer sends me their carb work on the Valkyries. I have several customers that live in Lawton

Can you give me a ball park figure on about what you would charge? I dont think any parts are needed. I  took them (seperated them) to clean some trash out of the lines and CANNOT get everything together correctly, vacume lines etc

Will you send me your physical address? I'll be leaving Wichita Falls about 8:00 in the morning and I'll call when I get close

Attic Rat is a Valkyrie guru.  If you need work done I doubt there is anyone better, friendlier or more knowledgeable.

Thanks Tim for the referral. Larry brought me his bike on Thursday. I will get started on it soon.  Looks like a really nice bike just needs some attention.

Have you ran into anything significant?

So I had some medical issues that have kept me off my Interstate and am looking to get it up to speed and functioning again. Searched on line for Carb draining guides or pretty much anything to give me a clue as to what and how to do it. Found a guy named D-Ray in Rubonia Arkansas that did a video record on youtube of his refreshing a 98' Valk that had been sitting for over 5 years. He guides you Step by Step through the process and he tried to reuse everything he could. I did not like the idea of reusing the Float needles. Little did i know that these things range upwards of $30 A PIECE. After I caught my breath I determined to find a less expensive alternative that $100+ on stupid Float needles. Found SpeedMotoCo.com has 2 & 4 packs for a total of $28. The videos and VRCC tech schematics should make this a rewarding and fairly straightforward project. Thinking of doing the Desmogification at the same time as I'll have access to everything. Looking forward to attending some of the events in Florida this Winter.

Larry I got three of the carbs apart so far there are several bent, broken and missing parts. I will call you later to give you an update once I get back to them and get the other three apart. It appears that someone tried to use a hammer and drive the carbs back together destroying several parts. Have no fear I will get them straighten out. It took me two hours just to get the linkage straighten and working properly. Nothing that I can't handle.

Dang, I hate to hear that. It was probably me that did the damage, I had no idea they are so fragile.

Attic Rat

You just can't force them back together. Not to worry I will get them fixed up just fine.
