Dennis, man I am so sorry to see you go, but no matter, I'll still email you from time to time and consider you a friend, and I don't have many.  For those of you that are unaware, I bought his non-triked '03 black beauty, that some of you saw at InZane in Asheville.  Just ran a 50 mile escorted ride for children's cancer and doing one in November for the American Legion.  There is a segment on this forum that are elitists, but almost every forum has a segment of that, and I pay it no mind.  For the most part, folks have been very cordial here.  The local Harley riders here around Birmingham, Alabama, are truly an odd breed.  They are impolite, unfriendly, Honda-Haters, and especially hate Valkyries.  I ride through the Harley lot every Saturday just to piss them off, never had a Harley rider even give me a low wave, never seen a bigger group of haters.  Hope to meet one some day that will even talk with me.  Considered changing my handle to LoneRider, just due to the fact that there is no one around me who I can even ride with.  You take care Dennis, and I'll talk with you soon, and you don't have to worry whether you have my respect - you have earned it and it remains intact.  Your old buddy CaribouHunter.

Well....I think my 6 yr old grand daughter's many tricks to draw attention to herself has finally been one-upped.

Sorry you decided to leave....but most of all get rid the Valk....IMO the best damn bike I've ever ridden bar none. Even my Brother-In-Law's 2014 Ultra Classic Limited. Beautiful bike....but no where near the performance of the phat lady.

And who in their right mind would ever buy a Valk for the MPG?

That made my day Charlie, riding ole Don around in the Ural. He also said If I wrecked while he was on board, he would, well anyway I did not wreck. It was fun.

That's just immature to depart that way IMHO. Why would you have to go? Others have switched bikes and still hang around. It's more about friendship and family. If you haven't gelled here, why would it be different somewhere else?

Charlie I'll ride that Ural anyday with a smile on my face. Except when Big Al is driving.

I've been hang'n here since the first day Vrcc went public (1999?). I'm still here... on non-Valk bike #2... since Valk crash in 2012.  I've met but a very few members here, but feel like I'm acquainted with many. The other forums are not like this one. I keep coming back to this club house for the good nature'd B.S. and to keep up with perspective in general on life & politics as viewed by others in different parts of the planet. Until the management says I can't hang out here because of my choice of ride... I'm here. And when I can no longer hold up the current ride... a Ural is in my future. Yrmv, sheets 8)

Being new to the Valkyrie ownership crowd and owning a Harley before, I've seen all kinds of comments on both forums. Each brand of bikes has there issues. I weighed the Valkyrie mileage vs longer life and faster speeds. I was always looking under my Harley to see where the next oil leak was coming from. I think as Valkyrie guys, we don't own one because of the mileage. HAHA I mean, really, who bought one saying, boy, am I gonna get some great gas mileage now? I'm in the process of repairing things the former owner didn't take care of and making the bike my own. I think by the time I'm finished with my Interstate, I will have a very reliable and awesome bike for like 1/2 to 2/3rds cheaper than a new Harley bagger.

You "asshats" are just talking to yourselves.   :2funny:   He's already made the full conversion to "Hogman, all American Rider".

Probably lurking and reading the posts to see what got stirred up and see how sorry we are he took his toys and went home.

It's a voluntary group.  You don't wanna' be here, well, that's fine. Good luck to you and safe riding.

I guess the guys who call Hondas "rice burners" and "jap-crap" aren't on his forum.

And if mileage is the real issue, get a moped!

I've ridden Jap crap, Brit crap, Italian crap, German crap and they've all made me smile, laugh, and cry.

Hey! Cma1----- here's a challenge:  Whoever said if you can't forgive, you can not be forgiven?  Wrestle with that for a bit and decide if its worth the risk you take.  I don't care what anyone says, you and your camera will be missed.  Each one of us has a purpose here as well as in life.   Gary

Good luck  enjoy the new ride, but I have to admit most Harley riders never give me grief about riding a Valkyrie most respect it big time. Theres a bar in a swamp near Louisiana big biker hang out and I always make a point of riding right into the middle of the Harley boys never a problem never a bad comment always welcomed no big deal.  If were truly honest some vicious comments are made on here from time to time no doubt. Lets keep it real.

Hef

I proudly ride a Valkyrie because I like it and feel like its for me. While every other bike I have owned (and that's a lot of different brands) all got much better mileage than my Valk, I have never enjoyed riding any bike more and I really don't care that it uses a little more gas. as a side note, I was at the Bikes, Blues, & Barbeque rally in Fayetteville, AR a couple of weeks ago where the majority of bikes were HD. Talked and rode with a lot of them and never heard one negative comment about my ride. I believe what someone on this board once said, I don't care what you ride, I will be your friend and proudly share wind with you. Good Luck CMA1, I hope you find what your looking for in bike and friends.

Funny, I picked my buddy up from the dealer for rear brake failure on his 2014 Ultra yesterday. Fourth repair in 5 months. Not bad for $29,000! BTW my 16 year old Valk runs excellent. Have fun you big Christian

No drama...be glad you have a bike and ride it...if you don't like someone else's bike for whatever reason just keep those thoughts to yourself and be glad it's not yours... :cooldude:

Dave Ritsema

I understand your reasons for wanting a new bike, in fact I shared several of your same concerns. As has already been stated, many of us have moved on to other motorcycles and are still members of the VRCC family.

There are people here whose company I do not enjoy, as I am sure there are some people here that don't enjoy mine. That is no different here than in other aspects of life, your going to have people you like and those that you don't. If you felt compelled to leave just because you purchased a different brand of motorcycle I am sorry for you because you are missing out on the company of many fine folks but hey, thats your choice.

What I find the most unfortunate is that you leave throwing some cheap shots and judgements around while having a CMA moniker attached to you. While I am not a member of the CMA I have several friends who are and they are among the most non-judgemental and forgiving people I have ever known, perhaps you should re-consider some of your words and think about grace and forgiveness in your life. I am not judging you, I do not pretend to know you but I am aware of who you are representing when you put on that CMA vest.

I wish you the best on your new journey.

It's a free country and you are free to do as you like...Ride what you like .... and Bash what you Like.....

There some amendment or something that says we can.....

Just so you know "Brad Bashing" is a consistent ongoing thing in ALL forums and vehicles....

Yankees vs Redsox

Michigan vs Ohio State (except they both suck as I went to Michigan State)

Ford vs Chevy.... Chevy vs Mopar

I ride Snowmobiles and it  very common to call Arctic Cats "Ditch Pickles" for there green color and the tendency for some yahoo's to go thru every ditch, field, driveway they can find..... they being not so creative, call ours "Rice Rockets" or such..... but My sled gets 15 miles to the gallon and theirs get a lot less (thats why we often call them exxon-mobiles since they can't seem to pass a gas station without stopping.

Bashing is everywhere, and almost all of it is Good natured fun....

The problems lie when the "Bashee" (or Bashed) cannot take some good natured ribbing when one of his comrades points out some shortcoming in his preferred brand....

Yes I do point out oil leaks, coolant leaks, place extra nuts and bolts under, and find loose items on friends rides......be it Ford, Polaris, or Hardly (yes I spelled it right..:)  ) or the fact that they went to some uppity school in Ann Arbor (they are easy to find as that is the first thing they will tell you.. before they even speak their name).....

And its alway the thin skinned one that goes huffing off in his new Chinese pirate costume to find like minded others to see what new triple digit stuff they can get out of the catalog to ride in or on from bar to bar before they put it on the trailer to take it the 50 miles home....

Grow up and take a joke!!!!!

And I have never had a Honda rider not wave back to me......
