Giving my two week notice tomorrow.

Just got fed up with the b/s at work, the attitude of the workers is horrible and everybody hates each other. Our insurance is crap, on the family plan our deductible is $6000 and pays nothing until it is met. We pay full price for doctors visits and our prescription plan is only good at their stores (CVS). They over charge so bad that we have seen instances where people have got their meds cheaper at an independent pharmacy without using their insurance. We just had a supervisor leave over this after his daughter got sick, he said he wasn't going to work for a company that treats its employees like that. We have a computer system that tracks us all day which I'm fine with because I'm there to work. The problem is they just keep turning the speed up and the pace has got ridiculous. And if you you need to go on a medical leave your disability pay isn't considered your normal pay and they don't deduct your insurance from it and you laps and get cobra info in the mail. Then you receive a letter telling you that if you aren't back by a certain time your position may have to be filled and you may have to come back at a different position for less pay. And i drive 30 miles each way to get to a job i hate.

On a happier note i already have another job that is about three miles from my house. I've already brought their insurance info home and Sue and I have looked it over, much better insurance. This is a print shop that primarily prints lottery bet slips and terminal receipts.  They are a busy shop and have 26 states that they print lottery for. I use to work there about 20 years ago and left on good terms. A lot of the old guys are still there which says good things.

As for my giving notice I'm going to call my supervisor tomorrow and tell him that this is my last two weeks. I didn't plan it this way but I'll never see my supervisor again. I found out on Thursday that I had the job and Friday morning I went straight to him and  told him I had some personal business that I need to take care of and needed to take a weeks vacation. Then when we went to the weekly meeting he said that he has the following week off. I have no problem with him, kind of like him. I hope he is taking the time off because he found a new job, i know he has been sending out resumes.

I too just changed jobs about three months ago because of the amount of hours I was putting in and being paid a salary liked my job and my Boss but couldn't do it anymore. Took a position same as the one I was in but work about 30 hours less a week and a pay cut but couldn't be happier

No insurance, squat for pay, no computer or telephone monitoring for the one lady (use that term VERY loosely) who is in our bosses backpocket (best buds) who lets her get away with NOT working 3-4 hours EVERY day that I have to help do HER job as well,  no benefits except holiday pay, crappy Bob Newhart 1970's office and software that could be LOTS better, and the list never ends could go on and on and on.  The ONLY thing I like about my job is it keeps me BUSY ALL day and the time flies 8 hours feels like only 3 hours since have to do nearly 2 jobs for barely the price of one.

Thanks for the good wishes.   I'm not sure what I'm going to do with my week off, have some things to do around the house to get ready for winter. Definitely going to go out and play in the wind a little and may drive up north and try to stick an arrow in a forest rat.

I've been self employed since 1985. Threads like this remind me of what I've missed. 

I'm not rich and never will be but I'm comfortable and have peace of mind.

I used to like driving over the road truck. THEN I retired. Far as the "company" was concerned I was a warm body in the seat-NOT a 3 million mile accident free driver. Anyone here that drives professionally KNOWS what it takes to have that many miles accident free.
