Anyone with Pics from a complete or partial dis assembly of their Valk Interstate would be appreciated. My project, that was to be complete in three months, stretched to a year. I (input your choice of words to describe stupidity  :crazy2: ) did not dis assemble my Valk the proper way and now have many bags of parts and a limited memory of where they need to be returned. I need pics of the saddlebags, rear fender, trunk, front fairing, and radiator pods. I have the service manual and a Clymers on the way, and pulled up the parts lists and blow ups, but for the mechanically challenged, the photos of an actual project should be a bigger help.

Hondas service manual is pretty good. I just got through putting one back together.( still waiting on fairing :-\)
Did you put hardware from each piece ie L saddlebag,R saddlebag, fairing into  separate  bags and label each one? If not you should have. There are so many little screws, washers and bushings it would drive a man crazy trying to figure it out from one big bag of pieces.

Thank you for the ron ayers microfiche list, That one is a lot easier to work than hondadirectline.coms version.

I didn't break everything into bags like I should've, I restate the "stupidity" and "did not dis assemble properly" remark. I broke things into...saddle bags, trunk, front fairing, rear fender, bags. Nightmare...close....recognize stupidity...BIG YUP ! Next, fix the stupidity and get my ride back. I know I'm not the only to have torn apart a valk for painting and I KNOW there is someone who has done it out there, and will have been clearly smarter than me AND taken (insert appropriate expletive) photos like I should have.
Beside cursing myself....I know a lot of these bikes were built over here but I can't over how Harley's seem to have certain things done with a couple screws and these bike use 20 to do the same (expletive) thing !....Oh....I learned early on on....I'm not a (colorful expletive) motorcycle mechanic either  :tickedoff: Thanks in advance for any help !

Well hang in there you did break it down into sections. My suggestion would be lay out parts (from one  section) on a table and seperate screws and such into like groups that will make that section much easier. I have also found that a calm head is not easy to keep putting one back together but helps tremendously. I didn't take pictures either :uglystupid2: but went back together working by myself in a couple of days.
When trunk goes back together make sure you sit bottom half on bike and temporarily hold it on with the front mounting bolt ( the one behind passenger seat) then run wires then put the inside in and then attach to bike :coolsmiley: don't ask  :-\ had to pull it back off and back apart :2funny:

Where do you live? I'm sure there is someone out there willing to help you. It shouldn't take more than an hour or two to put it back together.
