..what the group thinks about this "thing"? It's the Polaris Slingshot, from the owners and makers of the Victory and the New Indian motorcycles. It's listed, and can be registered, as a 3 wheeled motorcycle. They are brand new and just going into full production apparently. Pretty cool looking machine in my eyes and must just be a hoot to ride/drive, take your pick. ;D  Many of us, you know who you are  :-X, have toyed with the possibility of going to 3 wheels eventually due to various and sundry issues.  I'm not sure I would ever consider one myself but you never know. I would certainly choose this over the Can-Am. The two reviews I read aside from Polaris themselves were pretty impressed. So, I'm just curious....

I feel I can get a used Mazda Miata for 5g and get the same feeling.  I think it looks cool in the front but that's about it. I think Honda should put out a G/W with two wheels up front. I feel the Can Am has to be under powered.

The emperor has no clothes

I wonder why the power is sent to a rear differential and then from there to the back wheel via a belt drive ? Seems like it would be a lot simpler to just use a differential.

I'm in agreement on several of your points. It really is a 3 wheeled roadster. RJ, the website has bunches of pictures plus the video. When I first thought about going 3 wheels, arthritis is going to preclude my 2 wheeling some day soon, a convertible sports car, with 4 wheels, was my first thought. Not sure if this is the answer or not. I sure would like to test drive one. My local dealer here in Orlando has yet to receive one. He hopes by the end of the month. He has already taken several pre-orders for them. To your point Jerry, I have looked at several MX-5's (Miata) recently. You can get a really nice one for half what this thing costs. Different sensation I think being so close to the ground in the Slingshot. Time will tell.

I think I like the R18 that Gil posted a little better at this point although I admit to not looking at all the information on the Can-am.

That Canam sure looks radical.  It would be a real magnet.  As for how it would ride sure hard to tell.
I guess I am old fashioned and fixed in my ways but I sure like my traditional trike better than the reverse styles.

I like the looks of that R-18 for sure. Lots better than a Can-Am. Little pricey at 19K for the conversion but not too bad if you had a newer GW already paid for. I'm intrigued by this Slingshot though. I'm going to have to test one.
