Btw those machines are F@&king awesome......

Yeah if your a tree killer  ;D , they are sweet machines. Worked down in kentucky several years ago and had one on the jobsite that I spent many hours in. I was clearing 5 miles of woods for a railroad to go in. Id cut the trees and pile them behind me for the skidders to pick up and had a D9 dozer plucking the root balls out of the ground. Took us 2 months to do the job then another 2 to build the railroad. Closest I have ever been to being a logger.

Our current J and K series tracked feller bunchers and harvesters are still the design of former company Timberjack that JD bought out in the early 2000s. Actually all JD forestry equipment; skidders, wheeled feller buncher, knuckleboom loaders, etc are all still the based on Timberjack original design.

This new M-series TFB and harvesters have been in the making for almost a decade. It's the first forestry equipment totally designed by Deere from the ground up. I got in at Deere during the tail end of the design faze before production. It has been really cool watching them start on the assembly line the past few weeks, also brings a lot of EDPR trips on my schedule. (hello Canada).  :cooldude:

I'd like two of each, one of each to play with and the others as yard art.

Go ahead and deliver, the check is in the mail.   ;)

Cool equipment.   A big change from the '60 when I first started in the woods.   Still need the guy with a chainsaw on the steep ground  (cable logging areas) but the flats these machines rock.

I never got to play with the feller-bunchers, though have skidded with a D-7 cat and rubber tired skidder.  AND I was working for the Gov as a forester at the time.

I'm going to be up in your area sometime after the new year. Have a lot of projects I've implemented on bunchers going to Pape dealers in Oregon.

Hey Reb, Mr. Engineer sir, can you design one of those machines to clean up the woods after the trees have been harvested?  Now that would be nice.   We are going to  :cooldude:miss you this weekend at the Vets ride in Cookville. Keep up the good work and we'll see ya up the road.
