Thanks.  Nice job.  But I'm not sure I'd want to have to work on that.  But with any highly modified, high performance machine, they usually require a little "special" treatment. 

I'd like to hear the owner's thoughts sometime.  I believe you mentioned he wasn't a member, but ask him to join and post a ride report.

I just want to start out by saying the turbo bike is Bad Ass! That being said the relocation of the turbo is a cool idea too. So ultimately which produces more power the turbo or the supercharger? Which is more reliable? Do both require premium fuel? so many questions.

ultimately your horsepower limit with a turbo is the limitations mechanically of the engine where with a supercharger the is a limit to the actual speed of the rotors within the supercharger itself, so therefore the supercharger is limited to a max number of boost.  where a turbocharger is capable of 30 psi of boost on any turbocharger, and there are many mid frame turbos (like the one I used on this valkyrie) that flow more or less cfm depending on the desired boost level and horsepower level that you want to achieve.  

what im saying is that if you decided to stay mild on hp and installed a small of the mid frame turbos but later decided you wanted to more hp than is realistically possible to put to the ground then all you have to do is replace the actual turbocharger with another mid frame turbo and it will be a bolt in upgrade. where as the you would replace a mild supercharger with a larger cfm supercharger and achieve similar results but with alot high expense to do that if there is even another supercharger option for the valkyrie....

which one is more reliable? well, reliable is going to have more to do with quality of the build but together and well thought out and planned kit.  either a  turbo or a supercharger is improperly tuned will give you negative effects. the tune is everything!   on this turbo valkyrie, I did not spare anything that would have a lesser quality build.  quality is my number one goal.

I'm running 12 psi of boost with a garrett gt2860r ball bearing turbo which will spool (boost) faster than a traditional journal bearing turbo, and now with the addition of the intercooler the motor will make more power safer with the same 12 psi of boost.  the base psi of boost on this valkyrie is 12, but I could turn up the boost to 30 if so desired with an addition of a $80 part....

with 12 psi we have to run premium pump gas at the least, and this is only capable due to us running colder range spark plugs and a smaller spark plug gap and the a good air to fuel ratio tune.  any boost level higher than 12 psi I would recommend race fuel and some type of boost reference ignition retard...

I drilled and tapped the boss on the thermostat housing.  very clean and easy install on the bike, although you do have to remove the thermostat.  so I recommend replacing the t-stat seal and not reusing it....

Probably a bit of initial steam. Exhaust and intake air should all still be pretty much sealed.

thank you for your opinion! yes, a turbo bike or car is definitely not for everyone....

ask the owner of the turbo valkyrie that lives at 6500 ft of elevation if getting the power back, that he is naturally robbed due to elevation, makes it seem logical to have a turbo valkyrie...

if I could figure out a way to mount the camera where those gauges were visible I would do that just for you....

with the attachments provided from my buddy for his gopro im not sure if I could mount the camera on my helmet

Duck tape man, great build. I really want one now. One day when I win the lottery II'm going to hire you and attic rat and build custom valkyries with the 1800 motor and turbos.

Ask and you shall receive.  On the way to Colorado to deliver bike but before I loaded it on trailer I recorded a 4th gear pull from 50 to about 117 mph. Man, she sure does pull hard and the turbo whistle sounds sweet!  I will post a link to video once I get a chance to get it loaded to youtube....

yeah its hard to make an orange taste like an apple even if the orange has a turbo....

I do think the turbo valk will walk away from a stock wheel base hayabusa (naturally aspirated). 

about a month ago I finished a turbo build on a gen 2 hayabusa, stock wheel base and tuned all the ignition maps and boost fueling through the factory ecu by reflashing it.  the software was pretty cool cause of the autotune feature.  and yes the stock wheel base busa at 8 psi of boost if a handful to say the least!!!!
