01 I/S acting up

well for the first time in 10 years i can say the lacy is acting up.  it sat for the past two months (but it usually sits all winter anyways) and i took it out over the weekend to top it off add seafoam......

well this morn and yesterday morn, i rode it to work only to have he all of a sudden feel liket the brakes went on (and perhaps they did), pulling in the clutch did not allow coasting, it still slowed and teh engine kind of unreponsive, until i down shifted for more torque.

question is could teh brakes when cold run free and them by ever so slight friction, start grabbing?  wonderint if teh pistons rusted up just sitting there?

Assuming the engine is running well,  I'd be checking all my calipers and the drive line system. With all due respect, your problem(s) sounds really weird.

ii guess i don't remember if i pulled the clutch in and gassed it to check the engine fuel system.....but pulling in the clutch should have released a dogging engine and free wheeeled....thats what has my scratching the noggin.  I"ll have to play with it today if it happens again

I'd suspect clogged jets.

If the brakes were the cause, you can check the rotors

because one (or more) would be terribly hot.

If you think it's the engine, shift into neutral rather

than pulling in the clutch.

Brakes can and will lock up due to corrosion on the caliper pistons-the exposed part. Real easy to check-put her on the lift so tires clear the ground and spin wheel. Couple years ago my rear caliper pistons locked up after my pre ride check. Never left her cave. RIDE SAFE.
