Froze my butt off last winter working on my bikes, building a smaller area inside my shop that  can be heated easily with an electric heater.

i did that in my shop and beverly claimed it and put her tanning bed in there...i still have to stay out in the cold,,

Did that a few years ago...you will find, that once you get started working, you will not need heat...but you will need an insulated pad to sit on... Also beef up the roof...that area above can hold a bucnh of stuff....

Looks like he did, he's got 2x10 rim joist over the studs and plates, so most likely 2x10 ceiling joists.

Yes I did put 2x10 ceiling joist in knowing I am probably going to put some of my bigger tools up there that I don't use to save on floor space, like the router table and planer.
  I have an oil furnace in my shop but only use it when I am in there working and when its cold you would be lucky to get it up to 40 degrees in there.  I bought a 13,000 btu wall heater to heat the small shop, should work out well

LOL i made my work space 10 feet by 20 feet, she said the tanning bed goes in there and later the embroidery machine went in there,,then her Exercycle went in there,,i dont go in there anymore, gotta keep mama happy ya know,,
