If you take I-75 on the way to/from and like BACON. Try Tony's I-75 restaurant in Birch Run, MI   This is the ultimate greasy spoon. 1# of bacon on a BLT

St Ignace has all of the restaurants you'll need. I liked the "Galley" on the main drag.

Might not be a bad idea.  The wind through the straits gets pretty cold.  Looks like you'll be a little north of there.  The good news is, the further north you go, the colder it gets.   tickedoff

Not much in Cedarville but head north to Sault Ste. Marie should find some good places there. The Antlers on E. Portage St. is good. Franks Place, Soo Brewing Company, Freighters,Zorbas, Moloney's Alley and several more just don't know there winter hours but shouldn't be a problem. If you head back into St. Ignace The V.I.  (Village Inn) and the Mackinaw Grill are good.

The UP is the only area of the USA where mosquitoes have jabbed me through denim jeans.

I asked a guy in a bar what the winters were like.

He told me that if outside and drinking you had one beer under your coat in your armpit, the other in your hand.

Once the beer in hand started to freeze you switched them over.

Gavin, my friend, you could not be more wrong.

Pasties were made for the miners of Sweedish & Norwegian descent to carry into the copper mines for lunch. Something hearty that is transportable. Pretty much the opposite yuppy food.
Mines are not paticularly conducive for a spread of meat and potatoes, thats why the crust is on the outside, to be eaten like a sandwich. They are damn tasty. Like a pot pie.

Tony's does happen to be in the same state, but Reb is unlikely to take a 400 mile round trip lunch run  uglystupid2

Preston, the locals in the U.P. eat a lot of wild game (vension, bear, fish & fowl), smoked fish, and jerky. Sounds like a fun trip, U.P. in winter is awesome, skeeters are less agressive in snow drifts - take your Gerbings, Buddy!  cooldude

We rode to Sault Ste. Marie on one of our InZane day ride's. Folks that was with us will remember my ridin' bud Paul ( Wimp ) had a front tire go down at 75 mph on this ride north of the Mac.
