where is the thermostat on a 97 valk standard?

Black Dog

Follow the top radiator hose, behind the radiator, at the other end, it is in the housing on top of the engine block.

Sounds like it's time to get yer paws on a repair manuel.

Good luck.

Just when the highway straightened out for a mile
And I was thinkin' I'd just cruise for a while
A fork in the road brought a new episode
Don't you know...

Conform, go crazy, or ride a motorcycle...

A T T E N T I O N - Read carefully.

If you do take it apart, DO NOT over tighten the studs.

Bring them all down to just snug.

Then go around the housing and tighten a little more on each, repeat till ya finally have it to the correct torque.

Also, if you don't follow the instructions on snugging the studs down, you can and will break the thermostat housing, then you go buy a new one, IF the Stealer happens to have one in stock.
