After Sandy Hook, the Journal News (local Westchester, NY newspaper) printed the names and addresses of all the legal gun owners in the county.

I have never bought another edition of that paper and the ones they deliver for free during their subscription drives are used for packing and drop cloth like activities only.

After Sandy Hook, the Journal News (local Westchester, NY newspaper) printed the names and addresses of all the legal gun owners in the county.

I have never bought another edition of that paper and the ones they deliver for free during their subscription drives are used for packing and drop cloth like activities only.

Did they get sued for what was SUPPOSED to be "private information'? Most of the reason I held off on C C W was because our illustrious Mo. gubmint was willingly divulging to the feds who had such permits and where they lived. SUPPOSEDLY that's NOT supposed to happen no more!   IF the block I live on has a "gun free" residence I am NOT aware of it. I also live in an open carry state AND a C C W state. Course we STILL have a dem guv and a dem female in deception central.   NOT that a repub would be much better-JUST the other cheek on the same ass!   RIDE SAFE.

Simple really-illegal gun owners by the very definition DO NOT apply for permits nor do they register their weapons. Ask the folks in Austrailia how going gun free has worked out. RIDE SAFE.

The fact that you have to get a permit means it's all PUBLIC information.  Anything you do legally is public information and available to anyone who asks, or even searches for on-line.  You can find out how much your neighbor paid for his home, when he got married and/or divorced, if he has a licensed dog, his driving record, and on and on.  Only criminals are able to maintain privacy.

The fact I need to register with the County L E Os in the County I reside-even though they assure me it's "private info" BUT it's on the County L E Os computer which means ANY L E O agency-State or Fed-REALLY has access to said info. AND when I am stopped for WHATEVER reason and I present my drivers license when they run it-if I have C C W it's part of my driver license info. And IF I'm C C W-I need to inform them initially when I'm stopped whether or not I'm packing at that time. I figure if it's in a computer somewhere SOMEONE-ANYONE can and will find it if they look hard enough. While I am NOT SURE I M H O I believe that news paper broke a law. Course the liberals WILL NOT see it that way. RIDE SAFE.
