My Valkyrie now lives in the great state of Texas, in the care of a fine young man who was kind enough to nurse her back to health, which I am no longer able to do.  May they both live long and prosper.  See you all soon with a smaller bike or trike.  Smiley

Good luck finding a new steed. Riding is very important to some of us. For some it's in our blood and something that we have to do.  cooldude

I ran into a couple of guys near the BRP having way too much fun on these Versys 650s a
few years ago. I studied up on them afterwards, apparently they can go 70 or 80 down
the interstate all day long, and go zoom zoom in the mountains. Light weight compared
to our Valkyries.

Sounds like she's in good hands, Hoser.  Maybe you'll get to see her again in top notch shape.

Again, good luck on the search for the new ride.

Get a trike you will love it! I had to get one because of dizziness and like it way better than I ever thought I would. Good luck in your search .

If you run one at 80 on the interstate make sure you keep a VERY close eye on oil consumption.

Don't be sorry, I am not fit to ride or fix that size a bike.  Otherwise, I am feeling better every day, still got a shoulder/collar bone issue, which is improving.  Ribs and lungs seem to be up to snuff, and I am shopping for a suitable ride. These are appealing to me, at 502 lbs.   cooldude  Hoser

Truth is, since my surgery last summer, the thought of selling mine keeps entering my mind.

So far, I've resisted the urge.   Wink

If only I had the $$$$ and the space I'd be willing to pay you a fair price for the black beauty.

She likes it here in The Republic, she told me last time I talked to her.

Glad you're still on this side of the lawn, and hope you're able to find your way back down to Friendswood soon!

Hoser, thanks for the kind words...so far, ive taken everything down to where i can start cleaning and reassembly. i have a set of forks coming from a guy down south of us, replacing the rubber in the carbs and intakes, i SCORED a new looking set of exhaust ($50!!!!!!) which i will set up just like you had it...the originals had some scrapes on the left underside. i sanded down and refinshed the left hard case, still working on the right. that two step pearl is a pretty color but its a bitch to get right.

anyway Christine should be in good shape for GOTF, and Myrtle is gonna be on the stand next for her makeover.

btw i have torn down more carbs than the average bear, and these are pretty dang clean. wondering if you added cleaners, or if they stayed clean from constant use...

I know how you feel, I gave up my 02 standard about 6 months ago cold turkey. Still going through withdrawal, it's tough. I hurt my back and shoulder, broke the clavicle. I just didn't want my wife on it anymore and after 12 years and 160000 miles it was time. I still want to ride and don't know what I'm going to do.

Just break down and get yourselves a Spyder guys.  Lots of power and you don't have to worry about holding it up.  You can get a semi auto as well.  My wife loves her ST Limited.  Hell, I even like riding it.  It even has reverse and cruise control.

Nice!
and a rare bike, last yr a naked GW was made by Honda.
only GW the GL1200 were as the engine has to be pulled to replace the clutch.
The GL1200 is the best for MPG.
