Do any of my brothers and sisters in Il. KNOW what it is going to cost you to get your C C W permit?? And what about reciprocity? Will Il. extend reciprocity to folks with C C W from other states? Getting some mixed signals hence the questions being as I no longer reside there! Have like less than zero desire to be in any slam much less an Il. slam!! As always-T I A-and RIDE SAFE.

23 states have reciprocity right now I think, Illinois is not one of them. Why I don't go there.

I have made it a point to stay out of Illinois for years. Yeah I used to spend money there 2-3 times a year. Now I cross into WI at Dubuque - not into IL even for a moment. And now that our wonderful king came from there - I think I'll just make the boycott PERMANENT no matter what they do with CCW. Just doing my part to keep money out of the hands of liberals...

don't want to rob the thread but I don't want to miss the chance to bash the police state of Illinois. We fled in 2012 to the Western Slope of Colorado and you wouldn't believe the change. I don't carry myself but I can't tell you what a pleasant surprise it is to see people with a side arm on their hip. Just makes me feel safe knowing that there are open armed brothers and sisters close by. My first experience to this and a big awakening was several years ago on my first visit to my son up in Dubois, Wyoming. We were loading up the truck for a day trip and as we were leaving his cabin I noticed he had left the front door open, only the screen door closed. I ask him if he should lockup. He said, " Nope, everyone out here has guns and everyone out here knows you have guns. they leave your crap alone..." almost sounds idyllic but it made sense; just a basic respect for personal property. Then I had to go back to Illinois...... - Mike

I applaud the noble thought, but if you pay taxes, watch movies (Hollywood) or network television, then you're probably putting money into the hands of liberals.

And please work on changing Colorado back to 1975. I'm to the point concerning Colorado that you are to ILLness. I try hard NOT to spend a dime in Colorado anymore. Don't like all the BS laws you (they) have made lately. Remind us about CCW in Denver please.. Of course NM is trying hard to be the next maryjane for sale state.

Illinois doesn't recognize CCW permits from other states. They will take your money though. The cost for a non resident Illinois CCW permit is $300 plus class fee. Illinois was forced by the courts to come up with a CCW law. Illinois came up with a CCW law but added a shitload of restrictions. Guns are prohibited in schools, childcare facilities, state owned properties, government buildings, detention centers, hospitals, nursing homes, buses, trains, other forms of public transportation, public gatherings that require permits such as festivals, playgrounds parks, gaming facilities, libraries, airports, zoos museums + privately owned businesses can prohibit CCW by posting signage at the front door. Needless to say, there is not a lot of places you could take a gun in Illinois.

And another $100.00 for the Sheriffs dept to run finger prints and contact the F B I. I have quite a few states that DO recognize my permit and have reciprocity. But as an aside-MY/OUR 2nd amendment rights are costing some money to exercise! For you folks that reside in your rather restrictive states-I believe I might feel some of your pain. RIDE SAFE.
