I'm not saying it won't work...but I've seen that same type of wheel several years about. For whatever reason, it didn't catch on then and I doubt it will now. People are very reluctant to change from something that works.
I have first hand experience as I once bought a brand new RX4 rotary engine Mazda in 1974. They said the Wankel would revolutionize the auto industry. I'm here to tell you Mazda would be extinct if they continued with being a predominantly rotary company. Back then, they only had the 808 as a reciprocating engine. They switched their philosophy to make piston engine cars with the only rotary being the RX6...then RX7, and now RX8.
I had to have my engine rebuilt twice in 54,000 miles at a grand a pop. So, I'll let someone else try out the innovations.
