PBS Poll: Would you support more restrictive gun laws in your state?

I don't this one's going quite the direction they expected. There's a lively comment section too.

I was listening to PBS the other day, they were talking about improved (more restrictive) gun
laws in some states, and even less restrictive gun laws that, unbelievably, some states
had actually passed ...

When guns are outlawed ONLY outlaws will have guns!  uglystupid2 I have an ex B I L that asked me WHY I needed 15 rounds in my pistol.  crazy2 Told him just in case I was attacked by more than 3 people. He is a firm believer in the 5 round magazine.  uglystupid2 Do I HAVE to tell you he was never in the military and never owned a firearm?  2funny Also noticed there are far more folks in this survey that want far less restrictive gun laws.  cooldude Oh-and BEFORE some libtardpoliticohemorrhoid reminds you-the 2nd amendment is about-hunting!  Roll Eyes RIDE SAFE.

Right after Newtown our very own liberal governor prince andrew cuomo rammed thru some new highly restrictive gun laws. No one that I know was ever asked their opinion.
There was so much backlash that some had to be repealed. The State Police have consistently said they would not enforce these new laws and as far as I know they haven't. Although some over zealous local cops have.
I also don't believe any of these absolutely stupid laws have done 'any good'. I still believe our infamous governor stepped on his short arm because of this vast overreaction which killed his dream of running for and becoming our next democratic president. This probably means we'll be stuck with him here in NY for a few more terms.

The really stupid thing about the media pushing the Newtown incident as a reason for more laws is that the perpetrator was already in violation of multiple laws before he did the damage at the school.  What laws do they believe naively would have slowed down the murderer?  Don't they know that people willing to break laws will be willing to break whatever laws they pass?

I participated in the survey.  It showed me 94% no to a couple percentage points for yes.  I'm unclear as to whether they just showed me my area or the nationwide survey results.

Those in favor of more restrictive gun laws have no regard for public safety, they aren't really trying to prevent another mass shooting, they don't think gun control is in Americas best interest.  I believe they just want all personal firearms banned and eventually confiscated.

If they cared about the truth they would be able to clearly see that in areas where law abiding citizens are armed the crime rate is lower and where guns are banned crime is higher.  Its simple.

Gun control isn't about guns, its about control.  These folks want to control you.  And its much easier to force their agenda on an unarmed populace than a well armed one.

That's also why they keep trying to tie the 2nd amendment to sport shooting, see...they are teaching young children how evil guns are in the schools hoping that the next generation will not want to hunt or shoot for sport, then if the 2nd amendment is thought of as a hunting thing, no one will mind if they do away with it.

This is not a simple thing do you like guns or not.  This is a huge deal

DO YOU LOVE AMERICA home of the free or do you not mind being dependent on and subject to the Federal Government

The only free citizen is a well armed citizen.

Well there is hope.....only about 4% voted FOR more gun laws. That breaks down into the fact that only 4% taking part in this poll are nitwits.

Moreover, last I checked, you cannot amend the Constitution with a poll.

Of course, PBS should not receive a penny of taxpayer money.  I like them better than most all MSM, but just because they cover/disguise their agenda better than others, doesn't mean they don't have one..... and it's not my agenda (so why do I have to contribute to it?).
