So what is your Christmas itinerary?
I am staying put and not driving the 1400 miles to see family.
Maybe meet a divorced lonely babe on xmas eve at the club. and take her home .
The neighbors invited me to dinner on Christmas day.
So is your Christmas itinerary different ?
If there wasn't snow I could get my Fatgirl out and run her the way she likes. ok. Merry Xmas -W

Weather MIGHT allow a Christmas day ride. Lonely widow or divorcee sounds interesting. Other than that-nada. RIDE SAFE.

Settin on my ass doin nuttin.
Christmas exchange will be all over by then.
Kids from Alaska got in tonight. Eat, exchange on Sunday (tomorrow) put them on the plane home and wait for the next bunch to come in.
This Christmas is going to be a come as ya are, when ya can and we exchange, eat and kick ur ass out the door for home.
Usually, I rent the American Legion Hall, cater food in by Hy-Vee Grocery store, set around, eat, get fatter and piss someone off. Usually my oldest daughter.
Her honey makes $200,000 a year and she thinks she is WAY WAY WAY better than the rest of the family. She married a Army General's spoiled son.
When she gets to running her pie hole, daddy kind of jumps on her and shuts her up.
They leave and go to the Motel till their plane leaves and as they are heading out the door for the Motel we say, Merry Christmas, Happy New Year, see ya next year, maybe.

I'm going to get drunk and/or:
-finish erecting my shop -(if building is finished) move junk and unpleasantly heavy machinery into shop -eat a hamburger -chase women of low moral caliber -surf internet -hang out with friends -avoid family -might call the wife and see what city she's in
It truly is a blessing to not have children on the holidays. Save money, more free time. I love it.

For the first time in many years, we're spending Christmas alone....just the two of us. We didn't put up a tree this year since nobody is coming here, just decorated around the fireplace since everyone is spending time with their families. That's one of the things you run up against when the kids grow up, leave home, get married and have a family of their own. Now it's their turn to have all their kids and grandkids come to their houses. That's how life seems to flow. Since my wife can no longer travel, we aren't going anywhere, might go out for an early supper but that will be about it. I have one granddaughter that lives in the area, but she's a single mom and has other responsibilities so doubt she'll be stopping by. If the weather is decent, I may play a round of golf in the morning, otherwise....nothing special. This is how we do the fireplace each year, this year is no different. We pull up a couple of comfy chairs in front, prop up our feet to warm them by the fire, and have a glass of wine with the rest of the lights turned off, then reflect on the events of the past year.

Working Christmas Eve night, then do the tree thing with family when I get home Christmas morning. Bed, dinner for breakfast, then back to work Christmas night. At this time of year the postal workers work is never done...

Christmas Eve service with 7 of our 8 grandkids families then back to our house to open kids presents. The other grand daughter lives in Mesa.
Christmas they all come to our house for diner. Christmas for us is family and celebrating the birth of our savior.

Had all the kids here for Thanksgiving this year. This will be our 1st Christmas alone so my wife is taking me to Cayman Brac for the week.
It will be our 1st "just the 2 of us" vacation since the honeymoon 33.5 years ago.

Family at our house for holidays. Its down to Thanksgiving and Christmas now as we're not home for Easter any more. Regardless of any problems, our house is neutral territory for everyone.

Have two of our kids here for Christmas (one lives here with her family and the other just flew in yesterday). My Mom will be her also. Christmas Eve dinner at our home, Christmas dinner a Daughter's home. Presents opened Christmas morning.
I always figured that Christmas should be a family thing.
Thankfully always had a job that I could be home for Christmas.

Family tradition - Christmas Eve will be with me, my wife and kids and my sister and her family at my parent's house for Santa's early visit and family gift exchange, Christmas morning will be home for the little ones to see what Santa brought for round 2 and to open the presents under the tree, and Christmas afternoon will be the extended family getting together at an undecided aunt/uncle's house for dinner and sharing time with family.
And yes, especially after so many losses in the last year, I am painfully aware as to just how lucky I am to have all those people still in my life and on this side of the lawn.

Ok, I apologize Weeder for getting off the subject. My bride and I will be spending Christmas Eve by attending church and then packing overnight bag to go stay at my sons house so that we can be rudely awakened by our overly exuberant grandsons at some ungodly wee hour of the morning but you know we love it. Spending all day there and getting much fatter. They only live about 4 miles from me.

Today we were out for great brunch at a local gold course/restaurant with my parents and brothers and sisters/husbands/wives. Christmas eve service at our church. It's not Christmas without singing some carols with a load of good people. Christmas morning here with the kids and 13 or 14 for dinner with my parents, sister, her daughter back from Scotland, brother and law and wife up from Dallas, cousin from NY, uncle from Ottawa. Boxing day at my wife's brothers. 16 for dinner again. Next day at my parents for dinner with all my brothers and sisters and nieces and nephews and assorted younger generation husbands/wives/boyfriends and girlfriends. 35 for dinner! I usually put on a good 10 pounds..... Be blessed....

The kids and Grandsons will be here for the big family Christmas on Christmas Eve. Just Mel & I here on Christmas day while the kids have Christmas at home with their families. We didn't put up a tree or any decorations this year. Seems kinda silly now that the kids are grown.
They are only young once, enjoy it.
Hope all the VRCC and your families have a great Christmas.

Will be Bbq-ing a six pound bone-in prime rib roast. Just me and the wifeunit. Kids and grand-kids are too far away . Other relatives are too far away . We are situated in a small town hundreds of miles from anywhere worth visiting that's not convenient to get to. And we like it that way . Oh well, with an unseasonably warm winter I'll be forced to tend to the Q dressed in shorts and flip flops while nursing a few micro brews. I hate it when that happens . Haven't bothered with a tree in the last five years. Clean-up is so much easier this way. Yrmv,

At age 62, I am still doing the traveling. 3 hour drive to my Mothers home is a trip I have been making for past 44 years. Haven't missed one yet. We stopped exchanging gifts some years ago, it seems we celebrate Christmas all year long, purchasing our wants and needs as they come up, ain't America great! The holidays are more about good food and quality time spent with family. Mother is 88, still lives at home and teaches a Sunday school class. I'll keep making that trip as long as she and I are both still around. Our son and his wife will join us there along with my sister and her family. Hoping all of you have someone to spend some quality time with this week.

We will have six people, but four generations of our family in our home on Christmas Day. Sue's 92 year old mother, daughter and son in law, granddaughter, Sue and I. Our son and his GF will not make it, they are hosting GF's family in Minneapolis. We have always been fortunate to have frends and/or family around us at Christmas. The Christmas Day dinner is shrimp scampi, one of my favorites.
May all of my VRCC brothers and sisters have a joyous holiday season...

For the first time in more than 35 years we will not be awakened by kids or grandkids on Christmas morning. I am not warming to the idea, however it is part of the process and when God closes a window, another usually opens. So as we have always done, we will make the best of the situation we are given. A Very Merry Christmas to everyone. PS,,now that I think about it, its supposed to be in the 60's and maybe very light traffic,, " Are you thinking what I am thinking Pinky? "

Wellllll, let's see here. Been married for 22.5 yrs. been associated with said woman for an additional 6.5 yrs. Every one of those years I have spent Christmas Eve with her and her family. Rather hectic because her parents are divorced. So we split the Eve into two parts. Her Mom first and Dad second. Father-in-law much more fun to be around. Enjoyable way to end the Eve. Christmas Day is spent with my family. Sister has breakfast late morning on Christmas and other sister host casual dinner late evening. Things, obviously change over the years. Both my parents are gone now. Mom was the proverbial "glue" that kept us together. Christmas Day at both sister's houses get thinner every year. I must admit my mouth filter needs upgraded. Things I used to hold in, I now speak. Mom not their to keep me quiet and I'm not worried about keeping the peace for Mom! No truer words spoken, "you can pick your friends, you can't pick your family"! We lost my wife's Mom a year ago. Her side seems to be less available also. To top off this year. Wife has been sick a week now. Daughter sick a day or two short of a week. Spent Sunday morning at emergency room with our Son. He passed out 3 times Sunday morning from fever. He's down and out with the flu that the CDC did NOT pinpoint in the shot he received! As I type I can feel something coming on. Beginning to cough like wife and daughter are. We were scheduled to host the Eve party with her family Wed. we cancelled that. Most likely will not be going to her Dad's Wed night. I feel worse just because our kids look so forward to these events. Most likely Thursdays' activities are in jeopardy also. I am sure healthy people don't want a crew of hackers and sneezers around them! If tables were turned, I know I wouldn't! Well, I'm rambling. Just let me say, none of this really bothers me.With the exception of the kids. Though they are 14 and 16. They get soooo excited this time of year. It appears it will not be what they hope and look forward to ! Though I just joined this crew around Labor Day 2014. About the time I became a proud owner of one terrific motorcycle ('97 Black Standard). I want to wish all of you a very Merry Christmas, and a prosperous and Happy New Year!

Christmas Eve with my family... Christmas Day with my wife's family... Gonna be great! We are one of the few VERY BLESSED families where everyone (mostly) gets along and we all (generally) enjoy each others company. Sure... we all have bad days from time to time... but that's the exception, not the rule. Here's hoping that all of you can have a wonderful Christmas also!!

We do our Christmas on sat. The kids drive up the night before. My wife comes from a large family nine brothers and two sisters plus wife's husbands and kids. We never know how many are getting along or will show up. Lots of food and dirty Santa. If you want in on dirty Santa bring a twenty dollar gift unwrapped. We start a timer and shake two dice. Every time its your turn if you shake a double. You can trade for whatever gift you want. When the timer goes ding what you have is what you go home with. Now to answer your question I will be fishing on hard water both days.

Maybe meet a divorced lonely babe on xmas eve at the club. and take her home .
Better ask her if she has any dragon tattoos first, because otherwise God might not approve of the way you celebrate the birth of His Son. If you're an atheist or God-hating type person, then don't worry about it. http://www.valkyrieforum.com/bbs/index.php/topic,74040.0.html
