A 103 yr young 3 times per week golfer aced a 113 yd hole somewhere in Florida. Good for him. There is still hope for the rest of us.

I don't know how many of us have ever had a hole-in-one.

I had one years ago on a 165 yd hole. I miss-hit a 7 iron and hit the ball right square in the forehead which rolled, skidded, skipped and dribbled its way into the hole. It was some kind of ugly, but, still had to buy the bar a round.  Grin

I played golf 4-5 times in my youth.  I thought I did pretty good when I parred a few holes.

But there were a few embarrassing moments hitting off some other fairway, back to my fairway.
(The hole is down there, son (pointing).  Sorry sir, but my hole is somewhere over there (pointing))

And I think laying off the beer is a good idea, at least until you can stay on your own fairways most of the time.   Grin

I'm very seldom in the right fairway so its kinda like playing a different course every time.   Grin

An old gent named Walter(Wally to his friends) two doors up, now passed on, was a real joy to play a round with. Last time I played one with him was about six yrs. ago, he had just turned 90. Never hit it far but it was always straight down the center of the fairway. He used to joke about it, saying many golfers would like to shoot their age. But in his case he'd like to have his age be what he shoots....which was always in the low 80's. When he turne 80 years before, he actually was playing in the mid-70's. I played a trick on him one time and didn't tell him the truth for about a month. I came across some "super balls" that worked much like the super balls kids used to get many years ago. If you were a golfer that normally hit a 225 yd. drive, then these balls would add nearly 100 yds. to it if you hit it good. On about the 5th hole, a 400 yd. par 4, I teed off with one and watched it sail to within a 40 yd. chip shot of the green. Wally watched, leaning on his driver, yelling "holy s###t" along with a few more enhancements. I switched balls when he wasn't looking and didn't use it again until the par 5 ninth hole, where I repeated my "performance."  Wally bragged about my driving ability for the next few weeks and when I finally showed him the balls he got a huge laugh out of it. He then wanted to use a couple the next time he played with some of his buddies at the clubhouse. When they asked what was the source of his new found driving power, he told them he was using a small portion of a Viagra pill each  day. Said it helped increase his stamina and overall strength. I don't know if he ever told them the truth or not, just know he had a good time with it for a while. When he quit using those balls, he simply told them he stopped using the pill. Kinda miss the old guy, sense of humor as dry as the desert but a real hoot to be around.  cooldude

Almost had a hole in two. About 20 years ago I played a 9 hole game with my Dad . My first and only game. I hit the ball and it went about 18" and stopped, I hit it again and it went up to the hole and bounced into the pole and dropped onto the grass next to the hole. That was my best and last good shot.

I got a hole in one once, but that darn windmill killed my score after that!
