The police station just down the road from me just picked up two brand new 2015 road kings. Looking forward to seeing them in the spring. Maybe I'll  trash talk them a little.  Wink What, Taylor couldn't swing anything bigger than a two cylinder?

Not sure if it's still in effect but in the past Harley Davidson would lease certain models (namely Ultras) to Police Departments for a rediculously low price($1?) for a year. A dept would have to be nuts not to take advantage of that. Good marketing on HD'S part!

The article said they paid $39,000 for the pair.

Your tax collars at work.  Most agencies use Harleys here but Biloxi uses BMW's.  That's thinking long term.......

Otus, I can see them now pulling innocent folks like us over out on Telegraph Rd. You know as they come up through  the Ecorse Rd. underpass. Hell they probably paid for 'em with this years revenue from that trap.

Yeah, that has been a speed trap since I was a kid.  We call them the gardner white police.

Ok, thanks Otus. I did a little more searching and found that Victory has a lease program where the departments could buy the bikes at the end of the lease for $1. That might be similar to what Harley offered in the past, not necessarily a $1 lease. If I got it wrong, I apologize. Sometimes my "rememberer" doesn't work as well as it used to.  uglystupid2
