U.N. Arms trade treaty begins today...

A lot of opinions on it, on youtube and elsewhere.  Consensus is it won't affect our gun politics much directly as it has to be ratified by 2/3 of Congress IIRC - not to mention the grassroots opposition.  But there is the concern that many countries will ratify it, which will make us an international gun pariah and apply pressure esp to the "progressive" politicians via that path.  Lots of heated rhetoric about it, including the "assas...." word and similar words - makes me concerned to click on them to read (or even refer to them say here) in case my clicks are captured and adds me to a govt list.  Didja see the "Constitutional Party" candidate for gov of Nevada, VanDerBeek's rants on youtube?  Wow - he's being watched for sure.

And JUST to be clear-they-gubmint-are watching EVERYBODY. Sure it pisses me off but it DO NOT surprise me.   What will happen to my children and grandchildren and great grand-YOU get the idea!   RIDE SAFE.

We hopefully will never get the votes to properly ratify it, but we are now a signatory.

If push comes to shove in the future, it will end up squarely before the Supreme Court on the question of supremacy of Constitution vs Treaty.  As for so many other important things, this is why it is essential we never get any more justices like Ginsburg, Sotomayor, or Kagan.

All we should ever have is politically neutral constitutional scholars.  Activist judges (at any level) are a disease that needs wiped out.
