I don't need all of that.
All I really want is another 3 car garage and one more room in my house to put all the items I have accumulated over the years in.
I don't ask for much in life live pretty modestly with only a 1104 sq. ft ranch home, fully unfinished basement (no room to finish it) with 2 car attached garage.
The one time my junior girl in high school invited about 10 classmates over though for a school project video didn't go over so well. They had to leave and go over to someone else's junior girl's house to shoot the video since they have a fancy 2300+ sq. foot bigger home.
Not sure what I would do if I won the mega millions lottery jackpot? A corvette, new cycle maybe, and crew cab long bed truck and bigger house/more land would be nice, but not much after that.
Who would really want to live life like the show 'lifestyles of the rich and famous?' Seriously here, the more money those people make, the more it seems their lives are in turmoil.

Twenty-six years ago, I designed and drew up plans for our dream home to be built on our current acreage, a lot that we purchased that year. Then found that we couldn't a afford to build it. I then drew up plans for our current home which we've been in for 25 years. Only regret was that the pool table in our prior home had to go.

Funny how life goes. I spent my whole life wanting and accruing more stuff. Now I want less. I'd love to sell my big ole place and downsize but most can't afford to buy my place or else they can see the problems such as maintenance, taxes, insurance and so on. It was a blessing when I was forty but now it's a burden.

I won the lottery from a ticket my boss gave me for Christmas. First time I ever one anything in my life I won $2.00... I quickly went and traded my winning loot for two scratch offs, not so lucky, now I'm broke again. I'll stay in my small home, I know where everything is Oh I'll take home #31, 44, or 50

I have a 1000 sq. foot home, two car garage and a 280 sq. foot work shop. That's plenty for a 72 year old fart.

as well as for a 44 year old with family of 4. I'll take that 280 sq. foot shop off your hands though as well. I want to build a 12x20' shed in the backyard taking up near 1/2 the backyard, but wife says no. I say it is a win-win situation. less yard to mow and storage for fishing boat and atv's with trailer.

I can't imagine what goes on inside the head of someone that has to have a house like those. We as a whole have one of the highest standards of living in the world so what is wrong with any of our 'normal' homes. Everyone wants a nice home, but, those are beyond belief or any sense of reason to me.

Although not quite to those pics of extreme homes, my multi-millionaire 93 year old neighbor 3 houses up on the same street from me built a 5,000+ sq. ft. mansion plus the empty lot below to just build his retention pond with huge landscaping boulders all around. I've been in their home, their master bedroom is over 1/2 the size of my house even the king bed inside looks tiny inside that vaulted ceiling 20'x30' about room. I'll certainly take their 3 car fully heated garage though. All it does is make MY property taxes go way up building mansions alongside much smaller homes. NO ONE could afford it once they both die in a few years worth about 750K or even to afford their insanely high property taxes well over 10 grand per year when most homes around me are 3-4K per year. I gotta give him credit though, he still shovels his own driveway but with a an enclosed Ford tractor and mows his own yard with a very fancy riding lawn mower. He's an old retired IL farmer who sold all his acres to move to the city?? If I had that many millions, I'd move and build that house in the country AWAY from everyone since that size of house certainly looks odd amongst normal size houses 1100-2500 sq. ft.

If I had that many millions, I'd move and build that house in the country AWAY from everyone since that size of house certainly looks odd amongst normal size houses 1100-2500 sq. ft. Back after WW2 during the baby boomer years the average family had a 950-1000 sq ft home. Once the kids were gone the room additions started going on. I always found that kinda funny, but, understandable. Most married couples get their 'starter' houses and then 'start' their families. Pretty soon they 'need' the bigger better house. Once the empty nest situation rears its head, the couple finds themselves rattling around in that big hard to maintain house. Pretty soon the for sale sign ends up in the front yard and they start looking for that smaller house that they started out in. Seems to be the natural progression. I'm one that doesn't really care for big houses. I like unique houses, but, thats just me. I need more room for storing all my junk than I need to live in.

Yah, that is usually what happens, but to build a 5,000 sq. ft. plus home for 2 people in their late 80's/early 90's for age is a tad odd. They did it am sure for social status, or so they think, in this one horse town being by far the biggest, most luxurious home in the entire town. Right after they built it, they invited us all up to show it off. Told them I liked the 3 car heated garage the best as well as the walk in shower able to invite the entire Dallas Cowboy's cheerleaders in as well. I think if I was them, I'd get lost in my own home sort of surprised they didn't build an elevator in there while they were at it. I for one if I had that amount of money and pretty darn old and still in somewhat good health able to walk would be traveling all over this planet. I'm just thankful I built a ranch home with a full 24x48' basement vs. a smaller type bi/tri-level house like I was going to do for more living room area. I need the full basement to stash all our stuff somewhere. Just wish I would have taken the builders advice kept telling me to build that 3 car garage which at the time being 22 years old, had no need for it. 10 years later, I needed it.
