Ride to Auburn was uneventful. The nights festivities were fun.

Next morning the marshalling area was the local McD's. For a short while I thought I was in the wrong place.

Bruce took us for a short ride along some of the prettier roads around Auburn/Opelika  Cheesy until someone realised we had mislaid 2 of the riders. So we pulled over to make phone and text calls.

When grouped together Valkyries look awesome

A brief stop on a country road just inside the FL state line

My riding buddy Ian in the parking lot of the El Governor motel

View from the fouth floor room balcony

The room had an elecetric stove, full size fridge, microwave etc

The tire kicking Saturday night was good fun. Somewhere there's a photo of me holding Flask's big one.

Sunday Ian and I rode east to St. Marks wildlife refuge.

Stopped at a marina fro breakfast along the way

On the way east we took a detour along Cape San Blas. Lots of land and homes for sale.

St. Marks lighthouse

After leaving the lighouse we meandered looking for a road, any road that might wear some rubber from the side of our tires.

Then we got to the Boss Oyster Restaurant in Apalachicola

Corn fritters

Oysters were excellent and the home made horse radish was hot  Evil

Opposite the restaurant was a tourist store selling all kinds of "stuff".

Back to the motel for more fun although a few were slightly subdued after the previous evenings fun.

Monday morning was overcast

So Ian and I decided to ride inot the rain and headed west to the Naval Air Museum in Pensacola

Leaving Pensacola we had to head back towards Atlanta. Ian's work needed him and the cold I had been infected with had started to kick in.

nice report and great pics.

On vacation down there,  the naval air museum was well worth visiting.  Was bigger than I thought it ever could be.

We have an Air Force Museum at Hill Air Force Base close to me. Very Interesting. The planes do change at times. Used to have an SR.-71 blackbird that's not there now. Loved getting a close up look and touch on that one. Wright flyer rebuild was so flimsy, not sure I would have had the guts to try it. It would twist so easy with just an easy push on the wing tips.  Great pics.
