Had a little trouble at Dick's Sporting Goods... When I was ready to pay for my purchases of gun powder and bullets, the cashier said, "Strip down, facing me."
Making a mental note to complain to the NRA about the gun control wackos running amok, I did just as she had instructed.
When the hysterical shrieking and alarms finally subsided, I found out that she was referring to how I should place my credit card in the card-reader.
I have been asked to shop elsewhere in the future.
I still don't think I looked that bad.

Dicks is a joke anyway, where else do you get escorted to the door with your ammo purchase by an unarmed manager while your already carrying a concealed hand gun and two extra mags.

In all seriousness, we don't shop there. We just got back from Plainfield IN, went to the movies (Hobbit) bookstore, and out to eat. The wives cut through Dick's to stay warm but we no longer buy anything there. We've heard they pulled the AR's off their shelves to appease the anti-gunners after one was used in a news worthy crime. They've seen the last of our money.

I know a guy, bought an 80% AR15 lower at Big-R. Upon completion of the sale the manager carried the lower to the door and handed it to the buyer. That was just to be safe: they don't want customer's gun purchases to be carried by the customer through the store. Just in case he gets a wild hair and whips out his mill and drill press and templates to finish the lower, assembles the "assault weapon", loads it and starts blasting away.

I bought a 1022 for the wife at Dunhams for Christmas. The gun debt clerk boxed the gun up with this stupid gun lock going through the action. He could not close the box because of it or remove it. Then I walked up front, payed for it and then he escorted me out of the store into the parking lot and hands it to me. All this time he had multiple customers back in the gun department. I thought that was the dumbest procedure I ever saw. On a related note. I too will not buy anything from Dickson because of the same reason. They gave into the anti gun crowd and refuse to sell ARs.

That's a way different way of doing business than I have. I'll run a customer through the operation of their new firearm if they desire. And, if the neighbors or their cows aren't playing in their pasture behind my house we may even step out back and do some shooting. Damn I love being a PoDunk!

What did you think of the Hobbit? Absolutely terrific. I do wish I had watched #2 again before seeing the last one though.
