Hi everyone we are just getting home after Joe's ride and a long cut. Joe and Bruce did a great job getting us thru AL. and FL. It was good to see everyone and meeting new faces. We left out of FL with Joe and his group and stayed with them all the way to Clinton TN. (Gods Country). We was going to stay with Gordon a day but when we got up the next morning it was 18 to 23 and cold. We then took some great advice that was proven to us the day before by Joe You need some heated gear (He let us feel the heat). Well we now have some heated gear and stayed one more day. Thanks to Gordon for the great hospitably and a wonderful two day stay. when we left God's Country it was off to Clover South Carolina to visit with Shelia's family. When we left Clover on Saturday it was raining and did not stop. We made a stop in Lilburn GA. To see shelia's sister.  Still raining we set off to my sister's in Atmore Al. We made it as far as Greenville AL. when the bottom fell out with down pours and lighting. Sunday morning we made it to Atmore to visit and made it home last night. All and all it was a great time on the road with friends and family. I will be looking for the next ride so we all can do it again. Hell not ready for snow but can now ride in the cold and stay warm.  cooldude cooldude

Heated gear can change a ride from OK to great.

Outside of the moisture, which I'm sure you're used to, it sounds like a good ride, Dennis.  Looking forward to seeing you again this summer at IZXV.

It was good hangin' with y'all again... And, I'm glad y'all got in some supplemental adventurizin', too! Other than the initial sticker shock, having Gerbig's is a hugely good thing, so now with the only negative aspect behind you, you can continue to enjoy them and marvel at your good fortune in having them available... a word about that...

For them to provide maximum benefit, they must actually be worn and plugged-in... I did a lap yesterday for some BBQ (250 miles round trip)... Great day in the saddle, but the first leg was downright chilly.

I had my Gerbig's in the saddle bag, but they didn't help out much... I started to put them on several times, but decided it would warm soon, and... It did grudgingly warm a tad for the return leg, but just barely... Next time I think I'll try putting them on AND plugging them up... A word to the wise here...

Lookin' forward to the next shin-dig, amigo... Ride on!

One trip where I didn't have mine and got frozen, Joe or Wimp told me it was kind
of dumb to actually have heated clothes and then leave them at home...  Wink

You received some good advice, Mike... but I would also add... It's not enough just to not leave them at home or to actually have them along... I've also learned there are at least two very important additional steps to the process of happy-making... Who knew?
