Sounds like a case of galvanic corrosion at the master cylinder banjo bolt.  Interesting that it was only over a span of six months production of certain models.  That sounds like a supplier issue.  19,000 bikes in six months is a lot more production than they had when I rode Harley's.  That may explain their numbers out there on the roads.
